Hunter Goodman is a fantasy baseball waiver wire pickup for Week 5 (2024). Target this MLB prospect call-up as a free-agent waiver wire add for big-time power.
BALLER MOVE: Add in 15+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 1% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: The Colorado Rockies have promoted first base/outfield prospect Hunter Goodman from Triple-A Albuquerque on Wednesday. Infielder/outfielder Michael Toglia was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.
It's been a massive start to the 2024 season for the 24-year-old who has slugged seven homers alongside 22 RBI and a 1.042 OPS across 20 games and 91 trips to the plate. This is his second big-league promotion after he struggled to a .200 average with one homer and one steal across his 23-game debut last season.
There is light-tower power here. Goodman clubbed 34 home runs between Double-A and Triple-A last season, including an eye-popping nine long balls in just 15 games upon his promotion to Triple-A. He hit 79 home runs with 80 doubles across just 282 minor-league games.

Obviously, Goodman's bat has the opportunity to play up at the hitter-friendly Coors Field in Colorado. His massive power is certainly worth an add in dynasty leagues but Goodman offers value in redraft leagues, as well. He has the potential to be a difference-maker right away.
