Geno Smith's fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 18 (2024). Should you start or sit Geno Smith for fantasy football lineups?
BALLER MOVE: Start in 12 Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: QB1
ANALYSIS: Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith had himself a pretty complete performance against a tough Pittsburgh Steelers defense where he completed 23 of his 33 pass attempts for 290 yards, one touchdown, and zero interceptions. Smith also carried the ball three times for 33 yards in the loss.
In Week 18, the Seahawks will be on the road against the struggling Arizona Cardinals. There has been no question that this defense has been one of the weaker groups in the league this year, but the Cardinals have been decently competent against the pass as they stand 12th in the NFL in fewest passing yards allowed this season. Smith should have no worries about scoring points in this game as the Cardinals have allowed an average of 28.5 total points to opposing teams in their last six games played.
Due to the matchup this week, I would advise fantasy managers to trust Smith as he has plenty of weapons to work with against a struggling Arizona defense. Look for receivers DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba to all get their normal volume but with the possibility of upside.
Smith is listed as the QB10 in our Half-PPR rankings.
