Fantasy Football Advice: NFC Week Three Recap

In this piece, RotoBaller Chris Lacey recaps all the matchups with NFC teams from this past Sunday.  He breaks down all the fantasy relevant stats you need to stay on top of to win your league!

 

Chiefs @ Eagles

Kansas City easily handled the Eagles en route to a 26-16 victory. Michael Vick struggled in this game, throwing two interceptions and just 201 passing yards with one touchdown. LeSean McCoy continues to dazzle with 158 yards on the ground and had a rushing TD. Jason Avant was also good with five catches for 87 yards to include one TD.v Alex Smith did his job, completing 22 passes for 273 yards. Jamaal Charles was effective on the ground, racking up 92 rushing yards and 82 receiving yards with TD on the ground. Donnie Avery had a great game as well, with seven catches for 141 yards.

 

Packers @ Bengals

The Bengals rallied to beat the Packers 34-30 in a game that had plenty of turnovers. Andy Dalton threw for 235 yards and had two TDs with one pick. Giovani Bernard had 50 rushing yards and scored a TD. Aaron Rodgers was average at best with 244 passing yards, and he just threw for just one touchdown with two INTs. Johnathan Franklin was terrific in place of James Starkswith 103 yards on ten carries including a TD. Jordy Nelson was solid, with eight catches for 93 yards.

 

Rams @ Cowboys

Dallas was very dominant in a 31-7 victory over St.Louis. Tony Romo had 210 yards through the air with three passing TDs. DeMarco Murray was an unstoppable force, rushing for 175 yards and a touchdown.  Jason Witten was good as well, catching five passes for 67 yards. Sam Bradford threw for just 240 yards and a passing TD. Chris Givens led the receiving corps with 54 yards.

 

Giants @ Panthers

Carolina stunned the Giants with a 38-0 beatdown . Cam Newton completed 15 passes for 223 yards with three passing touchdowns, and he added another 45 yards on the ground. DeAngelo Williams was great with 120 yards on the ground and Ted Ginn caught three passes for 71 yards with a TD. Brandon LaFell had 53 receiving yards with two TDs. Eli Manning only completed 12 passes for 119 yards and was picked off once. David Wilson had 39 yards on the ground and Rueben Randle led all Giant receivers with just 40 yards.

 

Lions @ Redskins

Detroit used their dynamic offense to win 27-20 over Washington on Sunday. Matthew Stafford had 385 passing yards with two TDs on 25 completions. Nate Burleson had six catches for 116 yards and Calvin Johnson had seven catches for 115 yards with one touchdown.  Robert Griffin had 326 yards through the air and threw one interception. Alfred Morris had 73 rushing yards, including one rushing touchdown. Santana Moss had seven catches for 77 yards and Pierre Garcon caught eight passes for 73 yards.

 

Buccaneers @ Patriots

The Patriots had no issues against the Bucs, cruising to a 23-3 victory. Tom Brady threw for 225 yards with two TDs and one INT. Aaron Dobson caught seven passes for 52 yards and Kenbrell Thompkins caught two TD passes. Josh Freeman was average again, with 19 completions for 236 yards and an interception. Doug Martin was good on the ground with 88 rushing yards. Mike Williams caught five passes for 65 yards.

 

Cardinals @ Saints

The Saints defense kept the Cardinals in check; New Orleans won 31-7. Drew Brees had 342 passing yards with three passing TDs. Jimmy Graham is showing that he has no equal on the field, with nine catches for 139 yards and two receiving TDs. Carson Palmer had 187 passing yards and threw two INTs. Larry Fitzgerald was good with five catches for 64 yards.

 

Browns @ Vikings

Cleveland pulled of a stunning victory and defeated Minnesota 31-27. Brian Hoyer had some good moments with 321 passing yards and three TDs, but he also had some bad ones, throwing three picks. Josh Gordon was good with 10 catches for 146 yards and a touchdown. Jordan Cameron was great with 66 receiving yards and three TDs. Christian Ponder had 228 passing yards on 25 completions with one INT. Adrian Peterson had 88 rushing yards with one TD.

 

Falcons @ Dolphins

The Dolphins managed to remain undefeated with a great final drive to win 27-23 over the Falcons. Ryan Tannehill had 236 passing yards with two passing TDs. Brian Hartline caught four passes for 56 yards with a TD. Lamar Miller was good with 62 rushing yards. Matt Ryan had only 231 yards through the air, but he threw for two touchdowns. Jacquizz Rodgers was good for 86 yards on the ground. Julio Jones caught nine passes for 115 yards.

 

Colts @ 49ers

Indianapolis made it look too easy against San Francisco with a 27-7 victory. Andrew Luck had just 164 passing yards, while Ahmad Bradshaw ran for 95 yards and newcomer Trent Richardson had 35 rushing yards.  Each RB scored a TD.  Colin Kaepernick struggled again, completing only 13 passes for 150 yards with one interception. Frank Gore had 82 rushing yards on just 11 carries. Anquan Boldin caught five passes for 67 yards.

 

Jaguars @ Seahawks

Seattle put this game away early with a 45-17 victory over Jacksonville. Russell Wilson was efficient, completing 14 of 21 passes for 202 yards with four passing TDs and just one INT. Marshawn Lynch had 69 rushing yards and Golden Tate caught five passes for 88 yards. Sidney Rice caught five passes for 79 yards with two TDs. Chad Henne had 235 passing yards, but he threw two picks.  Cecil Shorts had a good game with eight catches for 143 yards.

 

Bears @ Steelers

Chicago was able to defeat Pittsburgh by a score of 40-23. Jay Cutler threw for 159 yards and had a TD. Matt Forte had 87 rushing yards with a TD and added another 24 receiving yards. Brandon Marshall caught five passes for 52 yards and Alshon Jeffery had seven catches for 51 yards. Ben Roethlisberger had 406 yards through the air, including two TDs, but he was picked off twice as well. Antonio Brown had a monster game, with nine receptions for 196 yards and two TDs.
