FanDuel NBA DFS Lineup Picks (2/1/20): Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice

Austyn Varney highlights the top FanDuel NBA DFS lineup picks for 2/1/20, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

Welcome to NBA Saturday night. We have just nine games on the board with a ton of different options to pay up for. We're looking at Anthony Davis being questionable and a ton of other injuries to pay attention to. While it may not be the biggest slate we've seen, ownership should be spread out as there doesn't seem to be any consensus value to this point. There is value to pay down for, but we have to get it perfect in tournaments if we want to take down some serious cash.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel on 2/1/20. These DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks on FanDuel. You can also check out today's DraftKings lineup picks.

FanDuel DFS Guards

Kyrie Irving - PG, BKN @ WAS ($8,900)

Kyrie Irving went absolutely ballistic last night in 31 minutes with 66 fantasy points on 54 points, five rebounds, and five assists. He now draws another phenomenal matchup with the Washington Wizards, who rank 29th in basketball against the point guard position. Irving is absolutely on fire right now and there's a very good chance he's playing with fire from the Kobe Bryant tragedy. Irving posted a 37% usage last night and I'd be far from shocked to see a repeat performance. Irving is still under $9k on FanDuel and he has as much upside as anyone on this slate. With him playing just 31 minutes last night, he should be good to go for his full usual complement, which would put him between 32 and 34.

Bogdan Bogdanovic - SG, SAC vs. LAL ($4,800)

The price on Bogdan Bogdanovic continues to sit below $5k on FanDuel after he posted back-to-back 25+ fantasy point performances in limited minutes. Bogdanovic will occasionally see 30+ minutes and the matchup with the Los Angeles Lakers is a good one. The top wing defender, who will likely be Danny Green, will cover Fox and it'll leave Bogdanovic open for plenty of threes. There is a ton of upside in this spot and the floor has been there around 25 fantasy points. At the far too low price on FanDuel, I am a big fan of Bogdan Bogdanovic in all formats.

Dennis Smith Jr. - PG, NY @ IND ($8,600)

With Elfrid Payton suspended and Frank Ntilikina out, it's lining up to be a Dennis Smith Jr. kind of night. Remember, RJ Barrett is out as well and he would've presumably taken over a lot of this point guard role if he was playing. Smith Jr. has gotten back into the mix with 13 and 14 minutes in each of the last two games and there are now 32+ minutes up for grabs at the position. Smith is minimum-priced on FanDuel and he is going to be the most popular value play on the entire slate. Damyean Dotson will surely backup Dennis Smith, but it's fair to project around 30 minutes and 30 fantasy points here for Smith.

Consider - DeMar DeRozan, Trae Young

 

FanDuel DFS Forwards

,John Collins - PF, ATL @ DAL ($7,600)

Collins may not get much attention tonight, but he's my top forward play on the entire slate. With Luka Doncic out of the mix, this Mavericks team is already thin and they're coming off a back-to-back. They rank 27th in the league against big men and their attempt to seal it up with Willie Cauley-Stein will not work. John Collins has been an animal of late for the Hawks, eclipsing 36 fantasy points in five of his last six games. Kristaps Porzingis is a phenomenal shot-blocker, but he's not nearly as good of a pure defender. Collins is coming off a 20-rebound against a very good Philly team and his price is still under $8k on FanDuel. If you can't afford Trae Young or like another expensive PG more, John Collins is a great way to get exposure to the Hawks.

Gordon Hayward - SF, BOS vs. PHI ($6,600)

Kemba Walker has already been announced out for this game and I'm not a fan of Brad Wanamaker replacing him. I do love Marcus Smart at guard, but expect Gordon Hayward to slide in there and take up a lot of the ball-control responsibilities. Hayward is locked into 35+ minutes here and the match-up with the Sixers isn't as bad as it may seem. The 76ers have a strong defense, but it doesn't matter much in today's NBA when defenders are switching on nearly every play. Hayward will play multiple positions tonight and his price on FanDuel is extremely fair at just $6.6k.

Kristaps Porzingis - PF, DAL vs. ATL ($7,200)

With Luka Doncic out of the mix, Kristaps Porzingis will be forced into a ton of production. While he's coming off an injury and we were assuming his minutes would be limited, he got up to 35 minutes just last night. He followed with 35 points and 12 rebounds on his way to 50+ FanDuel points. The matchup with the Atlanta Hawks couldn't be better, as they rank 26th against power forwards and play at a torrid pace. Porzingis is going to shoot the ball 20+ times tonight and his price still isn't high enough on FanDuel. I expect an $8k+ tag before long.

FanDuel DFS Centers

Rudy Gobert - C, UTA @ POR ($8,700)

Rudy Gobert has been extremely consistent of late and he now draws a phenomenal matchup with the Portland Trail Blazers. Gobert is basically a refined version of Hassan Whiteside. Gobert dropped 40 fantasy points against the Blazers just a couple weeks ago with 16 points and 15 rebounds. The Blazers are on a back-to-back and Gobert should have no problem dominating a tired Hassan Whiteside for 30+ minutes. The price on FanDuel is friendly at $8.7k and I'm a big fan in both cash games and tournaments.
