FanDuel NBA DFS Lineup Picks (1/29/20): Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice

Austyn Varney highlights the top FanDuel NBA DFS lineup picks for 1/29/20, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

Welcome to NBA Tuesday night. We have eight games on the board with a ton of different options to pay up for. We're looking at Andre Drummond being questionable and a ton of other injuries to pay attention to. There is value to pay down for, but we have to get it perfect in tournaments if we want to take down some serious cash. The sports world is coming off a surreal tragedy and all we can do as we try to heal is to keep all families involved in our thoughts and prayers. Cherish the small things that sometimes seem mundane.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel on 1/29/20. These DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks on FanDuel. You can also check out today's DraftKings lineup picks.

FanDuel DFS Guards

Damian Lillard - PG, POR vs. HOU ($9,800)

Damian Lillard has been a man on fire of late, and he’s still a whole $1k+ cheaper than Russell Westbrook. Lillard has put up 64-84 fantasy points in each of his last three games and now gets a match-up with a fast-paced Rockets team that’s going to invite scoring. If Lillard can keep hitting at a high clip from the outside, he’s going to put up 60+ fantasy points for the fourth game in a row. Lillard is unstoppable when shooting well, and there isn’t a defender in the NBA that can stop him.

Dillon Brooks - SG, MEM @ NY ($5,600)

He continues to fly under the radar, but Dillon Brooks is no joke, and he’s been dominant of late. Just over the last five games, Brooks has been over 33 fantasy points in four of them and got up to 52 against the Pelicans. This match-up against the New York Knicks isn’t an impeccable one, but shooting guard isn’t a fruitful position, and there is somewhat of a struggle for value there today. I love Brooks to post another quiet 30 fantasy points, and he shouldn’t be more than 15% owned anywhere.

Mike Conley - PG, UTA @ SA ($3,800)

Mike Conley may not have much upside in his minutes, but the price is very friendly on FanDuel, and he’s a lock to hit value in cash games. Conley got up to 24 minutes last game, and I’d project him for around 25-26 tonight. The Match-up with the Spurs is a great one, as they rank 23rd in the league against the point guard position. Conley is just $3,800 on FanDuel, and I’m a big fan in all formats.

FanDuel DFS Forwards

Jarrett Allen - PF, BKN @ DET ($6,200)

Domantas Sabonis is obviously a miraculous play. You don’t need me to tell you that. We’ll instead look at Jarrett Allen, who’s in a great spot for his price against the Pistons. We were all over Allen just a few games ago in this identical matchup, and he exploded with 52 FanDuel points. It’s hard to expect that again, but Allen has his minutes locked in with Drummond opposite him, and he’s shown to have success against this frontcourt. Allen is my favorite PF for the money.

Marcus Morris - SF, MEM @ NY ($5,800)

Marcus Morris has been a consistent producer for the Knicks, and he, like Dillon Brooks, seems to fly under the radar a bit. The matchup with the Memphis Grizzlies is one of the best in the league as they not only play fast but play terrible defense. Morris is going to shoot his usual 15 shots, and the minutes are locked in at 34-37. His price on FanDuel is extremely fair at $5.8k, and I have him as my highest projected small forward on the slate

Trevor Ariza - SF, POR vs. HOU ($3,700)

Trevor Ariza is a very easy value play today on FanDuel, and I’m not sure he should be under 40% owned. At just $3,700, Ariza is locked into his 30+ minutes, and this matchup with the Houston Rockets is a phenomenal one. They not only play fast but give up the third most open corner threes in the league. Ariza is going to be over 25 fantasy points in this game, and I wouldn’t be shocked if we see another 35-fantasy point performance as he excels in games with this pace of play.

FanDuel DFS Centers

Jakob Poeltl - C, SA vs. UTA ($4,400)

With LaMarcus Aldridge out last game, Jakob Poeltl played 35 minutes and posted 40 fantasy points. The big man has no reservations about getting involved in the offense, and he’s a very good player as well. He fits this scheme perfectly and plays a great two-man game with DeMar DeRozan on the wing. It’s hard to expect another 40 fantasy points here, but I have him projected for 31, and that crushes a $4k price tag.
