FanDuel NBA DFS Lineup Picks (1/28/20): Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice

Trae Young - Atlanta Hawks

Austyn Varney highlights the top FanDuel NBA DFS lineup picks for 1/28/20, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

Welcome to NBA Tuesday night. We have 8 games on the board tonight with a ton of different options to pay up for. We're looking at Jayson Tatum being doubtful and a ton of other injuries to pay attention to. There is value to pay down for, but we have to get it perfect in tournaments if we want to take down some serious cash. The sports world is coming off a surreal tragedy and all we can do as we try to heal is to keep all families involved in our thoughts and prayers. Cherish the small things that sometimes seem mundane.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel on 1/28/20. These DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks on FanDuel. You can also check out today's DraftKings lineup picks.

FanDuel DFS Guards

Trae Young - PG, ATL @ TOR ($10,000)

Young is certainly expensive, but I love the move in tournaments. There are no words that can be put here about the recent tragedy we’re all going through, but Trae Young has taken it upon himself to pay tribute. He put up 67 FanDuel points against this same Raptors team just over a week ago, so we know the match-up is no issue. Young is going to shoot 20+ times tonight and we’re looking at a 231 over/under. Young is going to go under-owned tonight and I love him in all formats.

Jrue Holiday - SG, NO @ CLE ($7,300)

Holiday has found his groove quickly since returning of late and he’s exceeded 37 FanDuel points in three of his last four games. The Cleveland Cavaliers play fast and rank 24th against the shooting guard position. Holiday has been extremely involved in the offense of late and I don’t see anyone on the Cavs slowing him down. The two point guards surely won’t and Holiday is going to end up with at least 45 fantasy points here.

Monte Morris - PG, DEN @ MEM ($4,900)

With Jamal Murray still out, Monte Morris is going to play big minutes and the match-up with Memphis is an elite one. The Grizzlies play extremely fast and rank 26th against the point guard position. Morris was a bit hesitant to get involved when Murray first went down, but he’s now been over 25 FanDuel points in three of his last four games. Morris is an excellent value play that will go overlooked on this slate.

FanDuel DFS Forwards

Pascal Siakam - SF, TOR vs. ATL ($7,600)

Siakam is back to getting a full allotment of minutes and he now gets a match-up with an elite Atlanta Hawks squad. Siakam is coming off a 50-fantasy point performance against the Spurs in a game he played 37 minutes in. The Hawks are an elite match-up for Pascal Siakam, who thrives when he can get up and down the floor. Siakam is a peripheral-monster and the Hawks don’t have anyone that can cover him. Siakam is way too cheap over on FanDuel and I’m a huge fan in all formats.

Kevin Love - PF, CLE vs. NO ($7,200)

Kevin Love only played 24 minutes last night as the coaching staff was preparing for tonight’s game. Love should be in there for a full complement of minutes here as the Cavs will want to trade Love as we get closer to the deadline. Love was phenomenal last night with 30 fantasy points and I’m expecting around 40 tonight. The Pelicans rank 27th against the power forward position and 28th against PF’s that can shoot from the outside. Love is my favorite power forward at any price on FanDuel.

Zion Williamson - PF, NO @ CLE ($6,300)

You can argue Derrick Favors is the play here as he’s a bit cheaper and doesn’t have a hard minutes cap. With that being said, Favors is likely seeing a similar minutes cap as Williamson. There is just no chance of Favors getting past 30 minutes with Williamson in the lineup. Zion got up to 27 minutes last game and I’d expect 25-28 once again here. The Cleveland Cavaliers are one of the weakest defensive teams in the league and Williams is safe to put up another 30 fantasy points tonight.

FanDuel DFS Centers

Brook Lopez - C, MIL vs. WAS ($5,300)

The expensive centers are certainly in play, but I’m a big fan of Brook Lopez here. The Washington Wizards are the best match-up out there for big men and I see no way Lopez stays away from 25+ FanDuel points. The extreme upside is there as well, as Lopez has the ability to get hot from three and the Bucks have shown a willingness to play BroLo big minutes. You can play a lot of these Bucks and Lopez is my favorite for the price. If you do want to pay up, Deandre Ayton is my favorite of the bunch against the Mavs.
