FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (5/27/17): MLB DFS Advice

Welcome to the weekend, RotoBallers. Today we have an extra full slate of beautiful baseball thanks to a double header in South side. FanDuel had to be extra weird of course, and has broken it down into a two game "extra" early slate starting at 1:05 PM ET, an eight game early slate starting at 2:10 PM ET, and a mini 5 game Main slate starting at 7:15 PM ET. I will focus on giving you options on both the early and main slates. Mother Nature looks to be fully cooperative today, as the only weather concern is in Washington. But even there the percentages are fairly low.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel on 5/27/17. The DFS lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options, and of course, value plays. Hop on over to Twitter and find me @RowdyRotoJB if you have any questions. Now, lets get rowdy.

Offensive Stacks

Early Slate: Arizona Diamondbacks versus Chase Anderson

Anderson started the season off hot, but now owns a 7.71 ERA in 18 2/3 innings in the month of May. The overall numbers may still look good, but the peripherals do not. At home this year he is allowing a 43.8 Hard hit percentage, with a 42.6 fly ball percentage. That is a recipe for disaster, which is exactly what today's match-up will be. Today he faces the Dbacks who own a .833 OPS against RHP this year, and an .863 OPS over the last seven days. Paul Goldschmidt and Jake Lamb are must-owns as always, with Yasmany Tomas, David Peralta, Chris Herrmann, and Chris Owings fighting for the other two spots in the stack.

Also Consider: Washington Nationals versus Clayton Richard

Main Slate: Colorado Rockies versus Adam Wainwright

I know, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize stacking the Dbacks and the Rockies (at Coors) is a good idea. But this afternoon slate really leaves you no other choice than to take the road most chalked as Robert Frost would say. Waino obviously isn't a great pitcher anymore, but he has been particularly bad on the road this season. So here's a pitcher allowing a .994 OPS on the road, and now place him in Coors Field against the hottest offense in baseball. If you fade this game for the main slate, you will also fade any chance at winnings. Waino has been literally equally bad against both handed hitters this year, so fit whatever four Rox hitters you can afford into your lines tonight.

FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Early: Zack Greinke, ARI at MIL ($10,600)

For cash games in the early slate, it really comes down to just two logical choices: Stephen Strasburg and Greinke. Yes, the Padres just allowed Max Scherzer to hang 70+ FP on them yesterday, but the Brew Crew have been equally as bad offensively of late and strike out with the best of them. I honestly see the two aces having very similar ceilings today and both with extremely high chances at both a QS and W. It really comes down to two simple things: 1. potential thunderstorms forecasted for game time in Washington which could cause a delay. 2. You save $500 by going with Greinke which could help you afford Goldy and Lamb.

Main: Gerrit Cole, PIT vs NYM ($8,900)

Dallas Keuchel is the top dog on the afternoon slate, but there's just no feasible way to get the big Rox bats into the same lineup as him. So I'm going to turn in $1,500 and go with Gerrit Cole who has been fantastic at home this season. Cole has turned in a QS in every start in PNC Park, while holding opponents to a measly .513 OPS. The Mets have some dangerous bats, but in the combined 42 lifetime AB against Cole, they own a .238 BA with zero HR. It is worth noting that Michael Conforto and Neil Walker are not in that sample however. Your Coors stack can make up for those two though.

Also Consider: Kyle Freeland, COL vs STL ($6,400)

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Andrew Knapp - C, vs CIN ($2,400)

Bronson Arroyo continues to maintain a job in the MLB. I don't understand it either. He is allowing a 1.026 OPS on the road, and a .995 OPS to LHB this season. The switch-hitting catcher Knapp on the other hand is is hitting a .929 OPS with a .225 ISO against right handed pitchers. He is a low risk/ high reward option behind the dish today for the early slate, while offering the valuable salary relief.

Also Consider: Kurt Suzuki - C, at SFG ($2,800)- Main

Brandon Belt - 1B, vs ATL ($3,400)

Mike Foltynewicz has been much better away from SunTrust this season, but has been hit hard by lefties everywhere. Brandon Belt owns a .930 OPS, .287 ISO, and 37.0 Hard% against RHP in 2017 and has a 16 mph breeze blowing to dead center today. Belt also gets a little BvP boost, as he already has two HR off Folty in just 10 career AB.

Also Consider: Ryan Zimmerman - 1B, vs SDP ($3,400)- Early

Jason Kipnis - 2B, vs KC ($3,400)

The price tag is finally beginning to rise on Kipnis as he returns to form after missing most of the first month of the season. Hopefully we see his ownership drop down today as he faces a southpaw in Jason Vargas. Vargas has had a surprisingly successful first two months, but is allowing an .896 OPS to fellow left handers. Kipnis isn't filling the stat sheet against LHP so far, but has hit two of his four bombs off them. Kip is also hitting .346 in 26 lifetime AB against Vargas.

Also Consider: Jose Altuve- 2B, vs BAL ($3,800)- Main

Corey Seager - SS, vs CHC ($3,400)

Hell of a price for one of the best shortstops in the world, but is probably due to his .158 BA over the last five games. Today little Seager squares off against John Lackey who is allowing an .885 OPS to LHB this season to go along with his 4.82 ERA. While Seager may be spinning his tires a bit in May, he still is hitting right handers to the tune of .301/.410/.487. This might be the match-up he needs to kick things back into gear.

Also Consider: Jean Segura - SS, at BOS ($3,500)- Early

Anthony Rendon - 3B, vs SDP ($3,700)

Over the last seven days, nobody in the entire league owns a higher SLG or ISO than Rendon (1.111, .722).  Over this span he has left the yard four times. Today he will enjoy his match-up against southpaw Clayton Richard who is allowing an .838 OPS to RHB. Rendon has absolutely destroyed LHP this year, boasting a 1.342 OPS and .474 ISO. He has also kills the ball at home, making this the perfect storm.

Also Consider: Alex Bregman- 3B, vs BAL ($2,700)- Main

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Avisail Garcia - OF, vs DET ($3,000)

I don't know what caused FanDuel to tank Garcia's price, but the man has been phenomenal in 2017. For the season he is hitting .333/.379/.570 with eight HR, nine doubles, and three triples. Over the last seven days his OPS is at a cool 1.044, and against RHP he is slugging .540 with seven bombs. Since we only get to play the first double header on FanDuel today, we don't get the extra tasty match-up against southpaw Matt Boyd, but Buck Farmer making his first start of the season will do just fine. $3,000...seriously?

Matt Kemp - OF, at SFG ($3,500)

First off, remember what I said about the strong winds blowing out to center field right? Good. Also, I don't know if you all are aware, but Atlanta has been very good against LHP this season. One of the reasons for this is Matt Kemp. He hasn't had a ton of exposure, still short of 20 PA, but Kemp is hitting .400 with two HR and a 50.0 Hard% off southpaws. Ty Blach has proved to be very crafty and actually quite good at home, but has still allowed an .821 OPS to RHB.

Scott Schebler - OF, at PHI ($3,200)

What has 14 HR, two thumbs, and can be rostered at a fantastic low price today? This guy ^^^. This might be the hitter I am most excited about on todays entire slate. First off, Jerad Eickhoff has been awful against LHB. Secondly, Schebler has nine bombs off RHP. Lastly, Schebler's OPS on the road is more than 200 points higher than at home. I know, you're excited now too.

Also Consider: George Springer - OF, vs BAL ($3,300)- Main
