Favorite DFS Plays for the Genesis
Harris English ($7,900)
There is something to be said about when my model dislikes a player in the week prior, yet they post a top-25 on the leaderboard before entering a contest that should suit their game better. I know that is coming from an 80-man field, but it means something to me when someone can pop where they shouldn't and deliver top-12 returns in the following week.
There are many more names we can add to this profile if we get rid of the mandatory top-25 (Cameron Young, Chris Gotterup, Robert MacIntyre, etc.). However, English's past course history and current onslaught of driving data make him worthy of being this week's Jake Knapp—a golfer who is way too cheap and probably still way too under-owned.
English ranked first in my model when using only 2026 data points for off-the-tee returns and landed a top-15 "Course Fit" for a profile that has generated back-to-back top-12 showings at Riviera Country Club. Consider this a bargain price and a lower than projected ownership mark.
Jason Day ($7,700)
I've been very vocal this week in the Discord channel about Jason Day in head-to-head markets. I thought the Aussie drew a very beatable group of options when diving into the Jordan Spieths or J.J. Spauns of the world.
Day is a course history savant who often pops up at the same venues year after year. The stats don't necessarily have to align with that answer. However, when they do, we see some of those high-end finishes begin to form in the profile.
I have never been shy in the long-term duration I use for running my math. It sometimes delivers a slow return for in-form players, but Day's projection is a fun one to dive deeper into when we move the data to apply only 2026 stats.
I always run a 'Weighted Strokes Gained Total' dispersion mark (If you want a deeper dive into that, I have talked about it on both podcasts I have been on this week). It usually looks at that longer-term data, but the yearly stats had Day as the third-best course fit when extrapolating those metrics for how Riviera Country Club plays each year for top-10 performers.
Since it is easier to explain verbally, here are the two podcasts I did this week:
$7,500 (Or Less)
I have mentioned Ryan Fox's name this week more than I have ever throughout my eight years in this space.
Fox is a very interesting 'Course Fit' candidate inside my model and pairs really well in all roster constructions this week.
If Fox does perform, the audience will not be forgiven on 'King of the Draft' because of your guys' prevention of my lineup being exactly where I wanted it to be for the event. Fox is way too cheap for the price and delivers a skillset that surpasses all the other $6,000 options.
