BALLER MOVE: Add in 10+ Team Leagues / Most Saves Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 19% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: The Los Angeles Dodgers placed closer Evan Phillips on the injured list on Sunday May 5th with a hamstring injury. While it's not considered a major injury, and not expected to sideline Phillips for too long, it will still leave an opening for saves chances in the Dodgers bullpen.
#Dodgers Dave Roberts said that Evan Phillips has a grade 1 hamstring strain. They are hopeful he will be back after this 15-day stint.

Setup man Daniel Hudson could very well be the first relief pitcher to get a crack at closer duties while Phillips is sidelined. Overall he's had a pretty good season so far over 15 IP, putting up a nice 16:1 K:BB ratio, but has also struggled a bit over the past few games. He has one win and one save so far in 2024, along with seven holds.
Whenever a potential closer becomes available, they are a valuable commodity in saves leagues (especially roto formats). Hudson is on one of the best teams in baseball, which could yield more save chances, and also has solid ratios. These factors all add even more potential fantasy baseball value, and essentially makes Hudson a must-add waiver wire pickup for those in need of saves.
Joe Kelly, Alex Vesia and Blake Treinen can also be in the mix for saves, as manager Dave Roberts was non-committal on who would serve as the fill-in closer. Kelly has been pitching better of late, and has also been working as a high-leverage setup man for the Dodgers.
