Daniel Hudson is a fantasy baseball waiver wire pickup for closers and saves in Week 10 (2024). Hudson is a good free agent waiver wire add for saves leagues.

ANALYSIS: Daniel Hudson is still the current closer for one of the best teams in baseball, yet he's available in 68% of Yahoo leagues. Hudson has made five scoreless appearances since the usual closer, Evan Phillips, went down with an injury but has earned just two saves. The Dodgers have dropped four games in a row, which has left Hudson unused for nearly a week.

However, the Dodgers won't keep losing for long with the Mets and Rockies on the schedule this week and Hudson should have a few more save opportunities coming.
Evan Phillips is eligible to return from the IL, but the Dodgers have said they would like to send him on a short 2-3 game rehab assignment. That means Hudson has at least another week as the closer.
Hudson has pitched beautifully in 2024 in whatever role he has been asked to take. He has a solid 2.70 ERA and a sparkling 0.70 WHIP through 20 innings with 22 strikeouts. Even after Phillips returns from injury, it's possible that Hudson has earned a share of the closer role. And even if Phillips returns to steal the saves, Hudson can help your ratios while being a nice insurance policy for teams in deeper formats.
