ANALYSIS: Los Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher Daniel Hudson is now in line to see ninth-inning opportunities, with Evan Phillips (hamstring) on the 15-day injured list.
Hudson secured his second save of the season on Wednesday, May 8, when he pitched a clean inning and did not allow a baserunner with one strikeout. The 37-year-old tallied his first save of the season on March 31 but has been primarily in set-up duties for Evan Phillips for most of the season.

On the season, Hudson has a 3.38 ERA and 0.88 through 16 innings with 17 total strikeouts. Dave Roberts may choose to have a revolving door for closing duties while Phillips is sidelined with Hudson, Alex Vesia, and Joe Kelly.
However, Hudson has typically pitched in the eighth inning and has a good chance to see most of the save opportunities for the next few weeks. Roberts clearly trusts Hudson in high-leverage situations which makes Hudson a safe bet to receive save opportunities.
If you need saves, grab Hudson, as he has a path to see several opportunities over the next few weeks on one of the best teams in baseball.
