In the preseason, we brought you Daily League Strategy Part 1 and Part 2. Now, all season long, I will be giving you my advice on whom to start in your daily fantasy lineups. For now, this advice will cater to those who play on Fanduel. They offer some of the best gaming options for beginners, intermediate, and expert level players. Ladies (one or two reading this) and gentlemen, here is your late game Daily Fantasy Baseball lineup advice for all games on May 2nd, 2013:
Thursday's Play of the Day: OF Nate McLouth ($4,300) - You may be saying "What? But his BvP is 3-15!" That is true, but while he is only a .200 hitter through 15 at bats, McLouth is hitting better than he ever has and stealing bases like crazy. He already has 8 steals this season and tonight he should steal some more. Blanton hasn't retired a runner on the basepaths yet this year and historically isn't very good at slowing them down. I'm confidently rolling with McLouth and some other Orioles tonight in a few of my lineups.
Thursday's must sit: 2B Kelly Johnson ($3,000) - He is somewhat cheap and you might be rolling with a Rays stack tonight because of their success against Santana in the past but there is no way Johnson should be a part of your stack. He doesn't fair well against Santana going just 1 for 11 in his career thus far. Keep him on the bench.
RotoCole's Fanduel Lineup:
P: Kyle Kendrick ($5,400) - Has been pretty good this season and tonight he'll throw against a Miami team missing their best hitter. Should put up around 12-15 FPs.
C: Victor Martinez ($3,000) - Seems due for a big game and Jordan Lyles is a prime candidate to serve it up. I love how he hits 5th behind Cabrera and Fielder.
1B: Prince Fielder ($4,900) - The most important player in my Detroit stack tonight is Prince. He is 2-4 with a bomb in his career against Lyles.
2B: Jose Altuve ($3,600) - He'll face Rick Porcello, who just gives up a ton of hits. I'm hoping this game turns into a shootout.
3B: Miguel Cabrera ($5,000) - I'm sure Jordan Lyles is a nice guy, I just hope has a bad night. Cabrera always finds a way to produce and it shouldn't be any different against an average to below average starter.
SS: Marwin Gonzalez ($2,700) - Gonzalez has been one of the bright spots so far for a team without many. I'm hoping he continues to shine tonight.
OF: Andy Dirks ($2,800) - He's been hot and is Detroit's #6 hitter. So with him I am starting hitters 3-6 in that scary lineup facing a poor pitcher. Should be a huge scoring night.
OF: Chris Carter ($3,300) - Not hitting for much of an average this year but possesses the power I like seeing for a guy priced at $3.3K.
OF: Nate McLouth ($4,300) - My start of the day will crush for my lineup today.
I'd provide more BvP stats but other than Prince Fielder, none of the other hitters have ever faced Porcello or Lyles.
Other stacks I would consider: TB, BOS, SD, CWS, LAA
Stacks I'd avoid: TEX, WAS, STL
