Daily Fantasy Soccer: DraftKings MLS DFS Lineup Picks, Sleepers and Advice for 8/15

The race for the MLS Cup is heating up, and so are opportunities to win money by entering in daily fantasy MLS contests on DraftKings. In a weekend that features a multitude of match-ups, you need to be properly prepared to select the best possible DraftKings MLS daily fantasy lineup. That's where I come in. Sit back and relax as I deliver to you my value picks for Saturday August 15th.

Editor's Note: If you haven't played Daily Fantasy MLS / Soccer games, check out our partner DraftKings. They're hosting a one-day Fantasy MLS league this weekend.

It's FREE to enter with $1,000 up for grabs!  Sign up now and we'll give you free access to RotoBaller's Ultimate NFL Full Season Pass + DFS Lineup Picks (a $99.99 value). You'll also receive a 100% bonus on your first DraftKings deposit.

DFS Soccer Goalkeepers for DraftKings

Jeff Attinella, Real Salt Lake ($4,000)
Jeff Attinella may not be the best goalkeeper available on DraftKings, but he will give you the most bang for your buck. He averages 0.12 clean sheets and 2.5 goals conceded per 90 minutes, which are lackluster numbers, to say the least. However, his 3.50 goals per 90 minutes is satisfactory and he happens to be facing the anemic Portland Timbers offense (only 25 goals scored this season), which will surely bode well for his fantasy production. Additionally, he provides a dollar/fantasy point value of $400 (he averages 10 FPPG), which is exceptional. Despite some concerns about production, Attinella provides great value at the goalkeeper position.

DFS Soccer Defenders for DraftKings

Marcel De Jong, Sporting KC ($4,400)
Marcel De Jong is a bit of an enigma considering there is a fairly good chance he will not see the field for the full 90 minutes every game. However, when he does play, he makes the most of th opportunity. He averages 1.51 shots and 1.21 key passes per 90 minutes, which are statistics that would be acceptable for a midfielder, forget about a defender. He provides a dollar/fantasy point value of $698.41, and if goalkeeper Tim Melia has a stellar game against Vancouver (he has been playing very well of late), then De Jong is all the more likely to provide high value at the defender position.
Chance Myers, Sporting KC ($4,200)
In DraftKings DFS contests, stacking is a strategy where one selects multiple players from the same team in hopes that if one player generates fantasy points, other players on his team will also rack up points as well as a direct result of the former's play. It is a strategy usually used in baseball, but it can be applied to soccer contests as well.
Chance Myers has not played much this season, but when he has, he has left a noticeable mark. He averages 1.02 shots and chances created per 90 minutes to go along with 0.34 assists per 90 minutes, above average statistics for a defender. With 7.8 FPPG, Myers provides a dollar/fantasy point value of $538.46 and even more potential stacking value if you play both him and Marcel De Jong.

DFS Soccer Midfielders for Draftkings

Javier Morales, Real Salt Lake ($8,800)

Javier Morales, despite his seemingly high price tag, is one of the most underrated midfielders in DraftKings MLS DFS contests. He averages 0.34 goals scored, 0.55 assists, 2.12 total shots, and 3.56 key passes per 90 minutes—all outstanding numbers. Additionally, his dollar per fantasy point value of $698.41 (he averages 12.6 FPPG) helps to secure his spot as one of the most valuable midfielders available for MLS DFS games on DraftKings.
Sebastian Lletget, LA Galaxy ($6,900)
Sebastian Lletget has seen his value (and price) rise in DraftKings DFS contests due to increased playing time over his last few contests. He attempts 2.29 shots per 90 minutes with 67% accuracy, which are exceptional numbers for a midfielder. He scores 0.81 goals per 90 minutes played, and while his assist and cross numbers are below average, his goal and shot output help to propel him into the first tier of high-value DFS midfielders. He provides a value of $718.75 per fantasy point (he averages 9.6 FPPG), which is one f the highest values among midfielders who consistently see the field.

DFS Soccer Forwards for DraftKings

Robbie Keane, LA Galaxy ($10,800)
Robbie Keane, despite being one of the most expensive forwards available, happens to be one of the most valuable. He averages 3.10 shots per 90 minutes with 65% accuracy, meaning that he is likely to put close to two out of every three shots on target. He also averages 0.36 assists and 1.08 key passes per 90 minutes, which are respectable numbers. He produces 15.3 FPPG and provides a dollar/fantasy point value of $705.88, which is top notch for a forward.
Giles Barnes, Houston Dynamo ($8,400)
Giles Barnes is a solid player who happens to be extremely valuable in DFS contests. He averages 0.35 goals scored and 3.06 shot attempts per 90 minutes. He averages 11.3 FPPG to provide a dollar/fantasy point value of $743.46, and his matchup against the porous New England defense should make him even more valuable.

DFS Flex Position for DraftKings

Chris Tierney, New England Revolution ($6,000)
It is rare to choose a defender for the Flex position, as defenders almost never pile up as many fantasy points as midfielders and forwards. Well, Chris Tierney is the exception to that rule. Tierney attempts 0.94 shots and completes 1.67 key passes per 90 minutes, both astounding numbers for a defender. He averages 8.5 FPPG, and provides $705.88 per fantasy point. He is one of the most consistent fantasy producers of any position, and is sure to get provide great value.
