Colorado Rockies outfielder Brenton Doyle has shown some promise in the power and speed departments but a lack of walks and plenty of strikeouts hinder his fantasy value. Given the upside, he is worth an add in NL-only leagues.
BALLER MOVE: Add in NL-only Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 12% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Colorado Rockies outfielder Brenton Doyle has displayed plenty of power and speed in his min0r-league career, and while those traits have extended to the big leagues in his brief time, there are plenty of flaws at the plate when it comes to the 25-year-old.
Appearing in 126 games as a rookie in 2023, Doyle hit 10 homers with 22 stolen bases across 431 trips to the plate. However, he walked in just 5.1% of his plate appearances and punched out in a whopping 35% of his trips to the plate. This season, he sports a nearly identical 5.2% BB% and has once again struggled with the punchouts, striking out at a 31.2% clip through 20 games.
It’s time to consider adding Brenton Doyle in your league.
We all know he has the speed. He swiped 22 bags in 431 PA last year.
But now he’s showing the power too. 3 HR, 5 Doubles & a .564 SLG in 58 PA.
He’s a legit threat for a 20 HR/20 SB season.pic.twitter.com/wVn5wV87TF

At the end of the day, the pop and excellent speed will play. The lack of walks and wealth of strikeouts are currently putting a cap on his fantasy value but he is worth an add in at least NL-only leagues as his power should increase with additional playing time in the big leagues. The speed is the foremost production at this point but there should be more to be had moving forward.
