Alec Pierce is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup option for wide receivers. Target him as a free agent add off waivers for Week 14 of the 2023 NFL season.
BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 2% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce is on the field a lot. Just once all season has the second-year wideout from Cincinnati failed to play at least 90% of the Colts' offensive snaps.
Despite that amount of playing time, Pierce just hasn't had consistent production this season, even though he's had consistent playing time.
Until this week, that is. Pierce was targeted six times, catching three passes for 100 yards and a touchdown. Gardner Minshew seemed comfortable targeting Pierce down the field in this one, something that's definitely worth taking note of. The fact that Pierce is always on the field means that if Minshew really is going to look to get him more involved on deeper routes, there will be plenty of opportunities.
In shallower leagues, you probably have enough options to not need to take the risk on Pierce. But in deeper leagues, there are just not a lot of players available on the waiver wire who have the kind of snap rate that Pierce does. He's worth a speculative add because of that, even though the production has been inconsistent. He's got an enticing matchup this week against the Bengals, who've struggled to prevent big plays.
