DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks (2/1/22): Today's Top NBA DFS Lineups

Stephen Curry - NBA DFS Picks, Daily Fantasy Basketball

The top daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on February 1, 2022. John Brubaker provides NBA DFS analysis and sleeper picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

Happy Tuesday and welcome to February, RotoBallers! I hope last night's slate of NBA DFS treated you well. I'm continuing to work on my NBA model, trying to gather more information to make sure all of you are as armed as possible going into each slate. Even with the small adjustments I've made so far, it seems to be working. I'm trying to implement different factors to separate cash options against GPP options. I'll continue to keep you all updated with the adjustments I make, and with all of that said, let's get to tonight!

Tonight we have a nice slate, with seven games on tap. With now both FanDuel and DraftKings having multi-position eligibility players, we'll have to attack slates a bit differently to make our lineups as optimal as possible. That's where I come in! I'll look to find my personal top plays and values for tonight's slate. Things can change during the day as well, so I'll do my best to update as news comes out!

Here are my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on 2/1/22. Keep an eye on RotoBaller’s NBA injury news and also our full NBA injury report today to stay up to date before lineups are locked.

DraftKings and FanDuel Guards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Stephen Curry - at SA (FD: $9,300, DK: $10,200)

I'll start tonight's slate off with Steph Curry, who's coming off of a 40 point, five rebounds, nine assist performance last night against the Rockets. He played 37 minutes and now faces a back-to-back, which is a bit concerning, but the Warriors are rather shorthanded tonight with the likes of Otto Porter and Nemanja Bjelica out tonight, as well as a few others who have missed recent games. With all of those guys off of the floor, Steph averages 1.27 FanDuel and 1.33 DraftKings points per minute. He should be able to take advantage of the increased usage in a positive matchup against the Spurs who rank 22nd in point guard efficiency. His minutes are a bit concerning, but my early projections have him playing 35.3 minutes tonight despite the back-to-back.

Kyrie Irving, at PHO (FD: $9,800, DK: $9,600)

I'm writing this as a look-ahead prediction here, assuming that James Harden is out tonight. Harden has missed the last two games with a hand injury, and it's hard to think he'll play tonight. On top of Harden being questionable, the Nets will be without Kevin Durant, LaMarcus Aldridge, Joe Harris, and Paul Millsap. With all of those guys off the floor, Irving averages 1.31 FanDuel and 1.36 DraftKings points per minute. The matchup isn't a great one, as the Suns rank sixth in point guard efficiency. However, if Harden plays I love Kyrie in this spot, and he should be able to get the job done.

Spencer Dinwiddie, at MIL (FD: $6,300, DK: $5,900)

Spencer Dinwiddie has burned me so many times in the past, but I have to consider him tonight with Bradley Beal out for Washington. With Beal off the floor, Dinwiddie averages 1.11 FanDuel and 1.15 DraftKings points per minute. The Bucks actually somewhat struggle point guards, ranking 20th in point guard efficiency. If Dinwiddie can get going early, it's hard to see him not being a great play assuming he plays around 32 minutes, which is about what I have him projected for as of now.

Also consider: Cole Anthony (FD: $7,000, DK: $5,500), Jordan Poole (FD: $5,300, DK: $5,500)

DraftKings and FanDuel Forwards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Kyle Kuzma, at MIL (FD: $7,200, DK: $7,400)

I just mentioned with Spencer Dinwiddie, the Wizards will be without Bradley Beal tonight. Kyle Kuzma will now take the role as the "#1" against the Bucks, averaging 1.1 FanDuel and 1.13 DraftKings points per minute without Beal on the floor. The Bucks rank 20th in power forward efficiency as well, and I would assume that Kuzma will end up being amongst the "chalkier" players on tonight's slate. I wouldn't reach for Kuzma in GPP lineups, but I find him as a solid option in cash.

Bobby Portis, vs WAS (FD: $6,000, DK: $6,300)

On the other side of this matchup, we have Bobby Portis. Portis has been a solid replacement for Brook Lopez as the Bucks' starting center. Bobby is averaging 1.1 FanDuel points and 1.12 DraftKings points per minute since Lopez has been out, and it's hard to not see him continue that trend tonight against the Wizards, who come into this one ranked 25th in power forward efficiency. It really comes down to minutes here, and I think Portis should play at least 28 minutes tonight. He's always a solid option around the $6K range, and tonight should be no different.

Wendell Carter Jr., at CHI (FD: $6,700, DK: $6,200)

My guy is back in the article. I absolutely love Wendell Carter, and he's been producing all year. The Magic will be without a slew of guys as they've been all year, and without those guys on the floor, Carter averages 1.07 FanDuel and 1.09 DraftKings points per minute. He gets a great matchup against the Bulls who rank 26th in power forward efficiency and has struggled to defend the power forward position in the absence of Patrick Williams. While he has been producing well of late, Carter is a guy who is just too volatile to play in cash in this spot, though, so I'll stick to him in GPPs.

Also consider: DeMar DeRozan (FD: $9,100, DK: $9,100) , Kessler Edwards (FD: $3,900, DK: $4,600)

DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Nikola Vucevic, vs ORL (FD: $8,700, DK: $9,300)

On the other side of the Magic/Bulls matchup, we have Nikola Vucevic. Vucevic has been playing extremely well of late, and now gets a solid matchup tonight against the Magic who rank 19th in center efficiency. The Bulls remain without Lonzo Ball, Alex Caruso, Derrick Jones Jr., and Patrick Williams, and with all of those guys off the floor, Vucevic averages 1.31 points per minute on both sites. It seems like he typically gets overlooked in cash, but I don't mind playing him in cash on either site tonight unless value opens up somewhere else.

Kevon Looney, vs SA (FD: $4,900, DK: $4,800)

I like Kevon Looney as a solid value option, coming off a seven-point, 14 rebound performance last night against the Rockets. As I mentioned with Steph Curry, the Warriors will be pretty shorthanded tonight. Looney finds himself averaging 0.92 FanDuel and 0.91 DraftKings points per minute without those guys on the floor. While Jakob Poeltl has been dominating on the offensive side of the floor lately, San Antonio still ranks 28th in center efficiency this season. I'll look for Looney to have a solid evening against the Spurs on a back-to-back.

Also consider: Nikola Jokic (FD: $11,300, DK: $12,500), Mo Bamba (FD: $5,800, DK: $5,300)
