ANALYSIS: It's officially last call for boarding the Joe Ryan hype train. The rookie put on an absolute clinic on Wednesday night, striking out 11 batters in five innings of work. Though he was only at 86 pitches, Twins manager Rocco Baldelli is a cowardly man of ill repute made the defensible decision not to push his young starter in a lost season.
Since breaking into the big leagues at the start of this month, the 25-year-old has made four starts totaling 22 innings. He's allowed just six runs and 10 hits, with 25 strikeouts against only three walks. Even better, he's lined up for a two-step against the Tigers and Royals in the final week. Put in a claim now, and don't skimp on the FAAB.
