Unrestricted free agent Tomas Tatar inks a two-year deal with the New Jersey Devils on Thursday afternoon. The contract features a $4.5 million cap hit and pays him $3.75 million for 2021-22 and $5.25 million for 2022-23. Tatar was a member of the Montreal Canadiens last year but did not play in the playoffs. One of the winger's biggest assets is his ability on the power play. He scored 12 times on the man advantage in his two best years with the Montreal Canadiens. Last season, Tatar still had ten goals and 20 assists in 50 games despite playing just under 15 minutes a night. Expect an increased workload in New Jersey and a boost in his even-strength and power-play totals as well.--Chris Wassel - RotoBallerRead More News
