Andy Dalton Says He's The Starter
Andy Dalton said he's been told that he's the starter. The Bears signed Dalton to a one-year, $10 million deal earlier this week, and he's expected to be the starter after the failed Nick Foles experiment in 2020. Former second overall pick Mitchell Trubisky signed with the Buffalo Bills to back up Josh Allen on Thursday. So as things stand right now, Dalton is in the driver's seat to star under center in 2021. But Chicago made an aggressive pursuit of Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and could make a play for Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson. Dalton is no longer in his prime and is more of a game manager, so he won't have much upside as a QB2, and he could have a pretty short leash if he struggles early in the year.
