ANALYSIS: Miami Dolphins running back DeAndre Washington was the team's leading rusher in Week 14 against the Kansas City Chiefs. Washington carried the ball 13 times for 35 yards. He also caught two of his four targets for 17 yards.
Washington's rushing average in this past week's game (2.7 yards per carry) wasn't great, but he was facing a tough Chiefs Defense. The only other Dolphins running backs who received carries in the game were Patrick Laird (four carries) and Lynn Bowden Jr. (one).
Myles Gaskin (COVID) missed Week 14 after being added to the COVID-19/Reserve List, which is what led to the increased workload for Washington. Washington also saw 13 carries in Week 12 against the New York Jets when Gaskins was sidelined.
Washington is worth adding in all leagues of 12 teams or deeper if you need a running back or flex next week. If Gaskin remains out, Washington projects to be the team's primary rusher yet again in Week 15 against the New England Patriots. He would be a good bet for around 15 touches in that game, making him a solid flex option in leagues of 12 teams or deeper.
