Patriots running back (RB) Damien Harris is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup to target as a free agent addition for Week 3 of the 2020 NFL season.

ANALYSIS: There's been no standout New England Patriots running back through two weeks of the season and that makes second-year back Damien Harris (hand) a tremendous waiver wire add ahead of Week 3. Harris suffered a hand injury in training camp and was placed on Injured Reserve prior to the season. He'll be eligible to return for the team's Week 4 game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Sony Michel and Rex Burkhead have split the bulk of the carries for the Patriots so far, but have done little with them, averaging 3.3 and 2.6 yards per carry, respectively. James White saw five carries and caught all three of his targets in Week 1, but was out for Week 2 after the tragic death of his father.
Where exactly Harris fits in amongst the team's running back hierarchy is unclear, but Michel and Burkhead have set the bar extremely low in the early going this season. If Harris can be productive when he makes his 2020 debut, he could end up being the lead rusher on the team going forward. He should be added in all leagues of 14 or more teams. For more shallow leagues, if your team is off to a good start and you're looking to take a flyer on someone who can help you longterm, Harris is a fantastic option.
