DJ Stewart A Full-Go For Camp
4 years agoBaltimore Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said that outfielder DJ Stewart (ankle), who had right ankle surgery last fall, is "full-go" for summer camp. Stewart should have a good chance to win the Opening Day job in right field. Before his injury in 2019, he was hitting .238/.317/.381 with four home runs and 15 RBI in 44 games for the O's. In two seasons in the big leagues with Baltimore over 61 games, Stewart has a .241/.323/.422 slash line, seven long balls, 25 RBI and 23 runs in 189 plate appearances. The delayed start to the season benefited him, giving him extra time to rehab his ankle. Stewart will only be worth a look in AL-only formats if he wins an everyday job.
