FanDuel MLB DFS Lineup Picks (6/29/19): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

Every team is in action on Saturday and that's quite the treat for us DFS players. There's actually only one game starting before 4ET, which happens to be the Red-Sox-Yankees matchup in London. We're going to go ahead and fade that one and focus on the other 14 games!

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel on 6/29/2019. The picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

We also provide DFS lineup picks for DraftKings and other sports. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact me on Twitter @Bartilottajoel

FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Justin Verlander, HOU vs. SEA ($11,500)

This play really doesn’t take much explanation, as Verlander is easily the best pitching option on the board. We’re talking about a first-ballot hall-of-famer who’s in the midst of yet another stellar season, getting a spectacular matchup. Since an unbelievable opening month, the Mariner actually rank bottom-10 in runs scored and OPS. That doesn’t even take into consideration the fact that they sit 27th in K rate as well. That’s really scary considering that Verlander is pitching to a 2.67 ERA and 0.75 WHIP while providing a 33 percent K rate. That’s why Verlanderand the Astros enter this game as a –300 favorite.

Austin Voth, WSH at DET ($6,200)

Voth has only made one start this season but it’s hard to overlook this sort of matchup. In six innings against the Braves, Voth allowed just four base runners while striking out seven batters. That’s an impressive line against a great offense and pitching against the Tigers should be a much easier task. The Motor City Kitties currently rank last in OBP, runs scored and K rate. That puts any pitcher in play against them, especially a guy at $6,200 coming off of a gem.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Rowdy Tellez: 1B, TOR vs. KC ($2,800)

Tellez has quietly had a nice year for the Blue Jays and it’s a wonder why this price remains so low. A .226 average is by no means pretty, but he’s been doing some serious damage. Hitting 14 home runs is an impressive mark in itself but he’s also provided three doubles and five dingers over his last 12 games. That’s allowed him to post a .783 OPS at the Major League level, with much of that damage coming against righties. For his career, Tellez has a .519 SLG and .826 OPS against right-handed pitching. That’s very intriguing against Homer Bailey, who’s pitching to a 5.83 ERA and 1.60 WHIP dating back to 2015.

Jason Kipnis: 2B, CLE at BAL ($3,300)

Many people outside of Cleveland may not realize this but Kipnis is arguably the hottest hitter in the league right now. That’s evident by the fact that he’s generating a .425 AVG and 1.278 OPS over his last 11 games. That’s downright absurd and it’s really no surprise that most of that damage has come against righties with Kipnis generating an .800 OPS against them throughout his career. Andrew Cashner is definitely not a guy we need to worry about either, with the right-hander posting a 4.50 ERA and 1.44 WHIP dating back to 2015.

Josh Donaldson: 3B, ATL at NYM ($3,300)

Much like Kipnis, Donaldson is also one of the best hitters in the game right now. Over his last 13 fixtures, Donaldson is hitting .340 while providing four doubles, six homers and 10 RBI. That’s the Toronto Donaldson that we all knew and loved, as it’s clear he’s finally fully healthy. What makes him enticing on this slate is the fact that he gets to face a lefty, with Donaldson posting an OPS north of .900 against southpaws throughout his career. Matz is really sliding right now too, generating an 11.57 ERA and 2.46 WHIP over his last two starts.

Jorge Polanco: SS, MIN at CWS ($4,100)

We have to pick on Ivan Nova and Polanco may be the best option in this potent Twins lineup. Let’s start with Nova, as his .386 wOBA is simply one of the worst marks in the Majors. That’s backed up by his 5.91 ERA and 1.57 WHIP and he’ll likely have a hard time navigating through the best offense in baseball. Polanco is a major reason why this offense is so potent, with the switch-hitter posting a .389 wOBA to match his 12 FD points per game. Despite being a switch-hitter, Polanco’s .988 OPS against righties shows which side he’s better from.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

George Springer, HOU vs. SEA ($4,400)

All of the Astros are in play against Yusei Kikuchi. The main reason for that is because this lineup is full of potent righties and they’re facing a lefty who’s struggling mightily. In fact, Kikuchi is pitching to a 9.00 ERA and 2.46 WHIP over his six last starts. That’s a scary thought against this offense and it shows why the Astros are projected for nearly six runs. Springer should play a major part of that atop this order, with the slugging outfielder posting a .430 xwOBA and 1.035 OPS so far this season.

Max Kepler, MIN at CWS ($3,600)

If we like Polanco, we have to love Kepler. It’s easy to see why we adore him when looking at Nova’s averages but this is just as much about Kepler as it is Nova. The lefty outfielder currently has 19 home runs, 51 runs scored and 51 RBI, as he’s done a good amount of that damage against right-handed pitching. In fact, Kepler has a wOBA north of .400 against righties while providing a .933 OPS. Anytime you have one of the best offenses in baseball facing one of the worst pitchers, you have to consider their leadoff hitter.

Bobby Bradley, CLE vs. BAL ($2,100)

Why is Bradley still so cheap on FanDuel? This guy hit two doubles in his first two games but followed it up with two hitless outings. That power potential alone makes him a great punt play at $2,100 and it’s hard to understand why a guy who posted a .997 OPS at Triple-A remains so cheap. Facing Andrew Cashner is benefical too and that also puts the platoon advantage in Bradley’s favor.
