FanDuel MLB DFS Lineup Picks (4/21/19): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

Troy Klauder highlights the top FanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks for 4/21/19, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

Today's main slate starts at 1:05 pm eastern and covers nine games. There's also an all day slate starting at the same time, featuring a glorious 15 game slate.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel on 4/21/2019. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @TroyKlauder.

FanDuel DFS Pitchers

James Paxton, NYY vs KC ($9,600)

Paxton was absolutely brilliant his last time out, throwing eight scoreless innings with twelve strikeouts against the Red Sox. He's now got a beastly 32.6% K-rate on the season and gets a very easy matchup in the Royals, who have just a .278 wOBA versus left-handed pitching this year. Paxton should be regarded as an ace, and this may be your last chance to get him at a discounted price.

Kyle Gibson, MIN at BAL ($6,100)

Gibson is the third-cheapest starter on FanDuel today because he's been downright awful this year. However, he's got serious upside in a matchup against the Orioles. Much of Baltimore's lineup simply isn't major league caliber, resulting in a .290 wOBA versus righties this season. It's worth noting that Gibson is coming off a year where he threw nearly 200 innings with a 3.62 ERA, so there's absolutely a chance for a bounce-back performance. Gibson is attractive in GPP contests, especially considering that he'll allow you to spend lots of salary on high-end hitters.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Jose Abreu, CWS vs DET ($2,900)

Abreu is off to a rough start, but there's no reason to worry about a 19 game sample. He obliterated lefties last year with a 144 wRC+ and should have a big day against Tigers southpaw Daniel Norris. Norris has pitched poorly in 8 1/3 innings this season, with just four strikeouts and three walks, as well as three homers allowed. Abreu is a fantastic value at his price.

Robinson Cano, NYM at STL ($3,400)

Cano is another slow starter whose price we can take advantage of. He is in a great spot batting third for the Mets, where he will see lots of run and RBI opportunities against Dakota Hudson. Hudson has been chewed up by opposing lineups and has a 6.08 ERA, so Cano can certainly be used as part of a Mets stack.

Corey Seager, LAD at MIL ($3,400)

Seager is an exciting play in Miller Park, an extreme hitter's environment where the Dodgers can score lots of runs. Regardless of whether he's batting second or third in the Dodgers order, Seager will be in a position to produce at a low price.

Alex Bregman, HOU at TEX ($4,000)

Bregman is an elite fantasy commodity who has picked up right where he left off last year, entering Sunday with a .916 OPS. He is in line for a enormous game against Shelby Miller, who has had a catastrophic 2019 campaign consisting of 11 walks in 10 innings with a 9.00 ERA.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Mookie Betts, BOS at TB ($3,900)

It was just last year that Betts was fantasy baseball's top performer, and we're already seeing him below $4,000? It's only April! Slow start or not, tough matchup or not - Betts needs to be in your lineups at this price.

Nelson Cruz, MIN at BAL ($3,400)

While his teammate Eddie Rosario took the spotlight yesterday, Nelson Cruz had a monster day of his own with two home runs. Cruz will be at it again from the cleanup spot against Dylan Bundy, who is one of the most homer-prone pitchers in all of baseball. Cruz continues to be undervalued, as he's rocking an elite 179 wRC+.

Ian Desmond, COL vs PHI ($2,900)

Don't you wish you could get some high-scoring Coors Field action in your lineups without wasting away all of your payroll? In that case, Ian Desmond is the bat for you. Yes, Desmond does suck, but it doesn't take much to rack up fantasy points in Colorado.
