We have a MASSIVE 9-game slate tonight and with the NBA still, on break, this is a good chance to get your feet wet in a new sport. Look for home favorites tonight, as most of them are in a good spot to not only score goals but come away with the win.
Vegas lines are big when it comes to picking games to target, and that's a good place to start for goalies. When it comes to skaters, goal totals is another main place to start. Usually, 5.5 goals are average, so targets game at six, and can look for goalies in games with a total at five.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 2/19/19. DFS Forwards to Consider
Connor McDavid - C, EDM vs ARI (FD - $8,500, DK - $7,400)
McDavid hasn't truly had a McDavidesq game in a while and I'm feeling one of those tonight. He is up against the Coyotes who are on the second night of a back to back, which has the Oilers coming in as -150 home favorites. They are also carrying an expected Corsi For set at 46 tonight, which should put them in a good spot to have plenty of offensive chances. The Coyotes are giving up the fourth most high-danger scoring chances per game this season, so plenty of opportunities for the Oilers to pour in the goals.
Jason Zucker - W, MIN vs ANH (FD - $4,900, DK - $4,500)
Zucker is very moderately priced across the industry tonight and should be one of the more popular players tonight due to the matchup. He is up against the Ducks who are one of the worst teams in the league and come in third worst in Corsi Against and in the number of high-danger scoring chances per game. This gives him and the Wild a great combination of having a solid floor, along with having a nice ceiling due to the potential scoring upside. Great for cash games tonight and is truly very affordable.
DFS Defenders to Consider
Kris Letang - D, PIT @ NJ (FD - $7,400, DK - $6,500)
Letang is the most expensive defender on both sites tonight, but you should be doing whatever you can to have plenty of exposure to him. He comes in with eight points in his last six games, averaging over three shots per game, along with nearly two blocked shots per game. He is also up on the first power-play unit for the Penguins, so you are getting plenty of upside with Crosby and Malkin, so you can pair them together for tournaments.
Ivan Provorov - D, PHI vs TB (FD - $4,700, DK - $4,500)
Love the price on Provorov tonight and he should be viable in cash games, or a nice one-off in tournaments. He is on the second power-play for the Flyers, which is where his upside comes from, but his floor comes from nearly two shots and two blocked shots per game. From a point per dollar viewpoint, Provorov is one of the most productive DFS players in the NHL and he brings great consistency for cash games.
DFS Goalies to Consider
Curtis McElhinney - G, CAR vs NYR (FD - $8,200, DK - $7,900)
McElhinney comes in as a -210 home favorite versus the Rangers tonight, which should put him in a good spot to come away with the win. The Rangers have the lowest expected Corsi For on the slate, meaning they are not expected to be taking a ton of shots, so McElhinney shouldn't be under a ton of pressure all night. This also means that he won't bring massive upside since the scoring from the saves will be limited.
