San Diego Padres catcher Austin Hedges (elbow) has progressed to throwing and expects to continue a regular regiment as he recovers from elbow tendinitis in his throwing arm. The next step for Hedges would be to resume hitting in the next few days. Hedges has been on the disabled list since May 1 with catchers Raffy Lopez and A.J. Ellis filling in behind the dish for the Padres. Hedges, a defense-first backstop, was hitting a weak .173 with two home runs and 10 RBI prior to being shelved. Upon his return, Hedges could be a last-gasp source of power for fantasy owners. He hit 18 bombs last year but risks significant erosion in the average department.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
