DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks (4/23/18): NBA DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel on April 22, 2018. Jake Finnen's NBA DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

Only two games on the slate which means this article will be on the shorter side. On night's like tonight, there are already plenty of sub-$3,000 options that are actually capable of exceeding their projected. They carry a fair share amount of risk but they also free up enough space to really roster whoever you want. You won't have to spend up on any bigs tonight, but there are plenty of top options open at the guard and wings positions. Both Paul George and Rudy Gobert are lined up for massive nights, mainly because of their low starting price and high usage.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 4/23/18. These DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks on DraftKings.

You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for sites like DraftKings. Find me in the Hoops Chat Room, then on Fortnite, then on Twitter @HalfCourtJester. Come bother me with your takes.

DraftKings DFS Guards

Alec Burks - PG/SG, vs. OKC ($2,700)

Of course this carries a ton of risk because Alec Burks is a point dependent DFS option. It's very unfortunate that Burks has literally no guarantee for minutes, but that's what makes him such an enticing option. The Jazz have been handling the Thunder well on every aspect, including scoring. Until the Jazz start searching for offense, Burks is going to be waiting for that exact opportunity. This is more of a, "hey look over here/don't forget me" pick.

Chris Paul - PG, at MIN ($7,700)

Chris Paul for less than $8,000? Yes and thank you. It's not like his stat line is indicating a slow down from Paul but I will say this. I will continue to be wary on this Rockets team until they prove themselves when they need to. This means that I will be watching close-out games closely and especially any game the Rockets play that they either must-win or can't lose. Pick whichever phrase is fitting, but it's hard to fade Paul when his price his so low and you know he will producing something close to 20 points and eight or nine assists.

DraftKings DFS Forwards

P.J. Tucker - SF/PF, at MIN ($3,500)

It's hard to put a lot of confidence in a P.J. Tucker pick, but since he has upside in rebounds and defensive categories, I expect him to hit double-digit points for the first time all series. Tucker is not a strong scorer. If he scores ten points then it probably means he was taking too many shots. That might be bad for the Rockets team success, but it's great for anyone who rosters Tucker tonight. He's taken at least five shots every game this series, hitting at most two shots. This should change and Tucker will still get his fair share of shots tonight.

Gorgui Dieng - PF/C, vs. HOU ($3,000)

Since there are few high-priced options tonight, we might as well scrape for the cheapest value we can find. Hellooooo Gorgui Dieng. Nothing against him, it's just that he DOES NOT produce on a consistent basis. He can rebound or score, one of the two, but banking on both at this point in the season is a very bold strategy. His range in minutes is a wide gap that doesn't offer any sense of stability, but watching him play, he should be hitting double-digit points or rebounds nightly. He offers space but it seems like he's resorted to only pulling shots if its the last option. Zero rebounds is a very, very, bad sign from a player that relies on rebounding for production, but it also gives him a very low ceiling to break through. Also consider Taj Gibson if you can afford him.

DraftKings DFS Centers

Steven Adams - C, at UTA ($5,200)

The fact that Steven Adams has yet to get a double-double, granted he's going up against the Defensive Player of the Year, is troublesome. Adams dominates the size and strength aspect of the matchup but Gobert's length is clearly causing problems. Adams is unable to consistently produce against a difficult matchup. What makes me want to take this pick is that Adams is still being a force on the offensive boards. If Adams can secure offensive rebounds, he will be able to capitalize on second chance points. Adams price has dropped this series and this will be it's lowest point going forward, so make sure you get it while you can.

Other DraftKings DFS Centers to Consider: Taj Gibson - PF/C, vs. HOU ($4,300)
