FanDuel NBA DFS Lineup Picks (1/27/18): Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice

One thing to notice about today's slate is the amount of games that are lined up to be high-scoring affairs. The Celtics, Thunder, and Mavericks are all slower-paced teams that are facing potent offenses that are capable of piling on points quickly. The Pistons will still be in for a challenge and the Mavericks will have a tough challenge facing the Nuggets, especially after Dallas lost to the Trail Blazers last night. With all this in mind, the point is that there will be plenty of options and feel free to ride the high-volume shooters in just about every game.

I'd suggest stacking the Celtics against the Warriors while they...replace Marcus Smart's offense? Believe it or not Smart has an impressive usage rate that ranges in the 15-25% range. Meaning the Celtics will need to find production elsewhere, giving other role players pretty decent upside. Terry Rozier is going to be a highly-owned flyer tonight, so either roll with the flow and roster Rozier or look for Semi Ojeleye or Abdel Nader to hit value. Both are extremely risky plays but will see an increase in minutes tonight.

Below you will find our daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel on 1/27/18. These DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options, to lower-priced players and value picks on FanDuel. Let's get to it, shall we?

FanDuel DFS Guards

Michael Carter-Williams - PG, at MIA ($3,500)

The Hornets beat the Hawks last night, mostly due to Kemba Walker's late game performance. On the second night of a back-to-back, it's tough to assume Walker will have the same usage rate and production tonight. The Heat tend to limit opposing point guards, but if Michael Carter-Williams gets the minutes, his length leads to production. He is still struggling to find a shooter's touch from the outside, but his backup role should allow him to get easy production. The Heat are still an athletic team and this is a risky pick, but Carter-Williams is showing more and more cohesion with the Hornets second unit every game.

Also Consider: Langston Galloway - PG, at OKC ($3,800)

Luke Kennard - SG, at OKC ($4,200)

You probably noticed there are two Pistons listed, and both are inconsistent shooters. The Thunder are one of the better teams in the league when it comes to contested shots so this will immediately turn away any players who generalize about good defenses. Both Luke Kennard and Langston Galloway have shown the ability to knock down shots, both in succession and while smothered. The Pistons starters have struggled against good defenses, so don't be surprised if they both come out shooting. Galloway is one of the few perimeter shooters in the starting lineup and Kennard is the top bench shooter, both have upside against the defense that will try to limit the more dynamic scorers like Tobias Harris and Avery Bradley.

Also Consider: Bradley Beal - SG, at ATL ($8,100)

FanDuel DFS Forwards

Jaylen Brown - SF, at CHI ($5,300)

If one thing is going to be clear about tonight's game, it's that Jaylen Brown and Kyrie Irving will be taking most of the shots that Marcus Smart would have been taking. It's not much, but as previous mentioned, the usage needs to fall to someone. As two of the better isolation scorers in the starting lineup, Irving and Brown will be taking a majority of the shots, not to mention the upside they get by playing against the Warriors. The Warriors tend to give up a lot of points to opposing shooting guards, so Brown has double the upside and is in an ideal situation to exceed his projection.

Kelly Olynyk - PF, vs CHA ($4,400)

The Hornets frontcourt is rough outside of Dwight Howard. Even though Hassan Whiteside has been playing really well, the Heat are still keeping their forecourt rotation evenly spaced. With Bam Adebayo playing well and Olynyk producing at the rate he is, it's easy to find value and especially this game. There is a good chance the Heat obliterate the Hornets and there will be plenty of garbage time stats to get. Not saying Olynyk is a garbage time player, but he produces in bunches off the bench and cleans up against inexperienced frontcourts.

Also Consider: Marcus Morris - PF, at GSW ($4,600)

FanDuel DFS Centers

Al Horford - C, at GSW ($6,700)

Another Celtic and it's hard to pass on arguably the most efficient shooter on the team. He takes smart shots and it tends to hurt his fantasy value. He already captains the Boston defense and thrives off hustle stats, so his upside is limited as a whole, but against the Warriors, his defense is somewhat negated. The Warriors will not be stopped by the Celtics defense, unless the Warriors shoot poorly then it may look that way. Even then, the Warriors defense will need to lockdown on Horford to keep the Celtics from being effective, which is hard if Horford is hitting his shot. He's an athletic big that has a cheap price with upside in just about every category.

Also Consider: Dewayne Dedmon - C, vs WAS ($4,800)
