DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (9/5/16): MLB DFS Advice

Happy Labor Day! Although the baseball regular season has entered its final month, there's plenty of action remaining. Every team is playing today, so their are plenty of targets to choose from. With games starting in the afternoon DraftKings has several contests to participate in.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for DraftKings on 9/5/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on DraftKings. The following targets have been selected for all day contests on DraftKings.

Editor's Note: Purchase a full season NFL Premium Pass (including Draft Kit + DFS Premium), and also get MLB Premium + DFS for free through October. DFS Lineup Stacks to Target on DraftKings

Baltimore Orioles vs. Matt Andriese (RHP)

Andriese is coming off an outing in which he game up seven earned runs in just four innings of work against the Red Sox. He's lost four of his last five starts and has to face a very potent Baltimore lineup today. The Orioles posses some tough left-handed hitters who will make for a great stacking option. Chris Davis, Hyun Soo Kim, and newcomer Michael Bourn all stand out as targets.

Colorado Rockies vs. Matt Moore (LHP)

The Rockies are ranked second in the league in team batting average and and 10th in home runs. Anytime they are playing at Coors Field they are worth a look as a lineup stack. Today, Colorado will face left-hander Matt Moore. Although Moore enters on a two-game win streak he had lost his previous three starts. Target the righties in Colorado particularly, but just be away that the high prices thanks to the home game will make it a bit tough.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider on DraftKings

Ian Kennedy, KC at MIN - $9,100

Kennedy is in a good spot for a start today with a very good matchup against the Twins. In two starts against them this year he's 1-0 with a total of two runs allowed. Current Minnesota hitters have an average of just .262 against him, making him a very good pitcher to target. Despite allowing four runs his last time out he's three wins in his last four starts.

Drew Pomeranz, BOS at SD - $12,000

Pomeranz makes his first return to San Diego after being traded to the Red Sox in July. Although Pomeranz has only racked up two wins with Boston, he's pitched strong, not allowing more than two runs in five of his last six starts. He has pitched well in pitcher-friendly PetCo Park, posting a record of 4-3 with an ERA of 2.64.

DFS Infielders to Consider on DraftKings

Catcher (C)

Francisco Cervelli, PIT vs. STL - $2,700

Cervelli was given to day off Sunday to rest and should be good to go Monday. He's got two double-digit fantasy performances in his last three games despite hitting below .200 in the last week. For someone with a price tag under $3,000 you'll take an average of nearly six fantasy points a game. He's got a .333 lifetime average against Adam Wainwright and is a solid sleeper choice at catcher.

First Base (1B)

Mitch Moreland, TEX at SEA - $3,100

Moreland doesn't have the best season average (.251), but is still averaging over six fantasy points a game on DraftKings. He went hitless on Sunday, but had multi-hit games on Friday and Saturday. Moreland will likely be overlooked, but you'll need his low price tag if you are going to make today's target lineup work. He's 10-for-47 lifetime with a .213 average against Felix Hernandez. However, two of his 10 hits have been home runs.

Second Base (2B)

Devon Travis, TOR at NYY - $3,300

Travis has been a good value option at second base all season. He still gets overlooked, especially in tournaments, but he has an average of nearly eight fantasy points a game. He's been slumping a bit lately (.227 in the last seven days), so that's the reason for the lower price. He did just have a 14-point fantasy performance on Saturday and two hits on Sunday. Also working in his favor is the fact that he is 1-for-3 lifetime against today's starter, Masahiro Tanaka.

Shortstop (SS)

Marcus Semien, OAK vs. LAA - $3,000

This one is a sleeper pick for tournament plays, but it could pay off in a big way. Despite his low .238 average, he's actually been useful to daily lineups with an average of 6.8 fantasy points per game. He's got a .353 lifetime average against opposing starter Jared Weaver and makes for a solid value play.

Third Base (3B)

Jake Lamb, ARI at LAD - $4,000

Lamb has been streaky this year and is hitting just .250 over the past seven days. However, don't overlook him for your lineup today. Aside from likely having a low ownership number, he's got a .600 lifetime average and a home run against opposing starter Kenta Maeda. From a fantasy perspective he's been more than serviceable, averaging 8.3 points a game. Despite his low season average, he's got good power and could be a very sneaky option today.

DFS Outfielders to Consider on DraftKings

Michael Bourn, BAL at TB - $3,800

Bourn has moved to a contender and will try to make the most of it. In two games with the Orioles he's produced just one hit, but that should only keep his ownership number lowHe brings the Orioles great speed and a good bat in the lineup. He's worth taking a chance on today given the matchup with a righty and his ability to do damage on the base paths. He's averaging 6.5 fantasy points a game and is a solid selection today.

Hunter Pence, SF at COL- $4,700

Pence is hitting over .400 in the last week and makes for a smart play at Coors Field today. He has a lifetime .333 average in Colorado and a .455 average with a home run against opposing starter Chad Bettis. Pence has a been a good source of fantasy points this year, averaging just over seven points a game.

Ian Desmond, TEX at SEA - $4,200

Desmond added another double-digit performance Sunday and now has three in his last five games. He enters today with a three-game hit streak and back-to-back multi-hit games. With an average of nine fantasy points a game, Desmond continues to be a very solid selection for daily fantasy lineups. He has just two hit in nine lifetime at-bats against opposing starter Felix Hernandez, but one of those hits was a home run.
