DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks (4/12/16): NBA DFS Advice

Tuesday night has the potential to get real silly. With pretty much nothing left to play for most teams on tap and coaches opting to shut down more and more players, as well as only five games on tap, we could see a lot of weird lineups. I’m talking about teams that are short $1,000 in the budget taking home the Sharpshooter contest. Total anarchy awaits us.

In this article, I will be providing you with Daily NBA picks for DraftKings for 4/12/16. The picks will range from some of the elite players, to mid-priced options, and value plays.

Without wasting anymore time, let's get down to it!

DraftKings DFS Point Guards

Kyle Lowry (vs PHI, $6,900)

Over his last nine games, Lowry has shot 46-for-143 (32.2%) from the field, turned the ball over 24 times, and averaged only a little over 6.5 assists. His DK points per game average during this current run is 33.8. But come on, man. Lowry at $6,900 against the Sixers is waaay too low. I expect his ownership numbers will be north of 60%, making his ownership in cash games negligible. Of course, if Lowry sits again for rest purposes…..

Cory Joseph (vs PHI, $3,500)

Should Lowry get some rest, or if you truly believe the Raptors are going to run the Sixers out of the gym, then Joseph is an autoplay Tuesday night. He has returned some efficient performances down the stretch run, but he is definitely a guy that absolutely needs the minutes to grab a solid return for his owners.

George Hill (vs NY, $4,300)

If there’s one thing we know about George Hill, it’s that he absolutely shows up to play against inferior opponents. I can think of none more inferior that the Knickerbockers.

DraftKings DFS Shooting Guards

DeMar DeRozan (vs PHI, $7,200)

For most of this season, DeRozan has been about an $8k player and has consistently returned at or north of 5x value. Perhaps most rewarding (or infuriating) for fantasy owners is that he has been recently grabbing more boards and dishing out more dimes. However, the Cavs did win on Monday night, securing the number one seed, so maybe DeRozan will sit. If he does…..

Norman Powell (vs PHI, $3,900)

Are you sensing a theme? Both Powell and Joseph have been playing admirably in place of DeRozan and Lowry, respectively, but they are both guys that need a full compliment of minutes to really return value. Especially on a short slate like Tuesday’s.

Sasha Vujacic (at IND, $3,700)

Errrr. The initial reaction of a Vujacic roster makes me physically sick to my stomach. That’s precisely the kind of thinking that gets my attention when making a contrarian GPP roster.

DraftKings DFS Small Forwards

Robert Covington (at TOR, $6,800)

The top four seeds in the Western Conference and the top two in the Eastern are pretty much locked in. This means that Kevin Durant, Paul George, and Kawhi Leonard all have big, fat question marks regarding their playing time. So, unfortunately, that means Covington has become the de facto “heavy hitter” at the swing for Tuesday.

Matt Barnes (at LAC, $5,400)

With all the injuries the Grizzlies have sustained, they’ve actually done a pretty solid job of keeping it together in the midst of a playoff run. As much as it pains me to say so, a big reason for that has been the solid all around play of Barnes. The veteran is playing closing to 40 minutes right now and has averaged about 36.4 DraftKings points per game over the his last four. He also strikes me as a guy that takes things personally, so I’m pretty much sold on the revenge game theory here.

.

DraftKings DFS Power Forwards

Nerlens Noel (at TOR, $6,200)

The only thing certain out of Philadelphia right now, other than knowing that their three year experiment failed, is that Noel is going to be the focal point of the offense over these last two games. From a cash and tourney perspective, he is the chalk play of the day.

Myles Turner (vs NY, $4,400)

Fresh off 28 point, 10 rebound performance, Turner will look to continue to dominate an inferior Knicks squad that will most likely not have any presence of a big man to defend him. Kristaps Porzingis is likely shut down for the remaining two games and Robin Lopez, in what limited court time he will receive, will be used to check Ian Mahinmi or Lavoy Allen, freeing up Turner.

DraftKings DFS Centers

Hassan Whiteside (at DET, $8,700)

Andre Drummond (vs MIA, $7,400)

With the salaries as low as they are and reserves likely getting a ton of playing time on Tuesday, owners can feel free to spend heartily on both Whiteside and Drummond. Drummond should get loads of rebounds in the early part of the first quarter. Then Whiteside will enter the game and get his while the Pistons sit Drummond. Then Whiteside will sit, helping Drummond to another healthy dose of boards. And so on and so on. At least, that’s what is in my head.

Boban Majanovic (vs GS, $3,300)

Every good article includes at least one mention of Boban.
