DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (4/11/16): MLB DFS Advice

One week down in the 2016 MLB season and we’re already starting to see those wild price fluctuations that are oh-so rare in August. Be sure to check the names of players dropping in price. Sometimes that aging veteran at $3,200 is a better play than that red hot up-and-comer priced at $4,500. Except Tyler White. Dude is unreal right now.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for DraftKings on Monday, 4/11/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on DraftKings.

Without further ado, here are the picks.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target on DraftKings

Detroit Tigers vs. Jon Niese (LHP)

It’s only been one start, but you get the feeling that we know what Niese is going to bring to the mound this year. His opener against the Cardinals last week was Dickensian to say the least- it was the best of times (seven strikeouts), it was the worst of times (five hits, one home run, one walk, four earned runs). Expect more of the same against a vicious go-for-broke-against-southpaws Detroit lineup.

Washington Nationals vs. Bud Norris (RHP)

Close your eyes. Now, everyone who thinks that Bud Norris will toss another seven innings and yield only three runs against the Nationals, like he did on Wednesday, raise your hand. Keep your hands up. Now, everyone, open your eyes. Dollar to doughnuts that no one in the room you’re sitting in has their hands raised. Daniel Murphy, Bryce Harper, Danny Espinosa, and Matt den Dekker are primed.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider on DraftKings

Max Scherzer, WAS vs. ATL - $13,100

Mad Max’s ownership numbers should be relatively high, so he is about as cash safe as they come. Expensive, yes, but definitely a lot of upside in his roster. For tournaments, I would think about go elsewhere. Of course, he has the potential to go no-no all over the Braves and their silly (bad) wRC+ of 37.

Jose Quintana, CWS at MIN - $9,300

Do I trust Quintana? Well, I really don’t trust anyone at this point in the season. However, I do trust Minnesota’s 31.9% K rate this year. That’s an absurdly high rate, but I expect that number to remain high compared to the rest of the league for 2016. Take the “free” strikeouts.

Strongly Consider Jon Lester ($10,500) against Cincinnati.

DFS Infielders to Consider on DraftKings

Catcher (C)

Chris Iannetta, SEA vs. TEX - $2,900

Iannetta has looked well in 11 official at-bats this season. Although that is a small sample size, it is more than enough for us to declare that he is seeing the ball well right now. With soft-tossing Colby Lewis on the mound throwing softballs, Iannetta should get plenty of chances to drive in some runs.

First Base (1B)

Tyler White, HOU vs. KC - $4,500

When a guy has a home run in three straight games, you ride the hot hand.

Also consider Miguel Cabrera (DET, $5,000) going up against Jon Niese.

Second Base (2B)

Ian Kinsler, DET vs. PIT - $4,300

Kinsler against lefties, especially Jon Niese-type lefties, is oh so juicy. Last year, he finished with a .413 wOBA and a wRC+ of 165 against left-handed pitchers at home. Click “Draft Player” and move on.

Also consider Danny Espinosa (WAS, $2,900) against Bud Norris for the power threat.

Shortstop (SS)

J. J. Hardy, BAL at BOS - $2,500

Hardy himself a poor matchup against David Price. Theoretically. The guy actually has some solid career splits against Price, going 12-for-39 with a .308/.357/.436 slash line against the leftie. Considering the other matchups and prices of some of the other shortstops, Hardy looks to be a nice punt option for Monday.

Third Base (3B)

Daniel Murphy, WAS vs. ATL - $4,100

Boy, has Murphy’s price skyrocketed. That’s what happens when you start a season white hot the way Murphy has. The dude has been drilling line drives to the right field gaps like it’s his job. Oh wait, it is.

Maikel Franco (PHI, $3,900) has a hit in each of his starts this season and will be playing Mr. Homerun himself, Andrew Cashner, in the Philly sandbox.

DFS Outfielders to Consider on DraftKings

Bryce Harper, WAS vs. ATL - $4,900

Cha-Ching!!

J. D. Martinez, DET vs. PIT - $4,500

Martinez finished his 2015 campaign with 20 homeruns at home. Monday seems like a good day to start his 2016 campaign.

Jon Jay, PHI vs. SD - $2,900

I realize his numbers are bloated a bit after two games in the thin air of Colorado, but at least Jay is seeing the ball well right now and batting in a fantasy-friendly spot in the lineup. He’s also a legit bag-stealing threat on Monday too against the poor defensive platoon of Cameron Rupp or Carlos Ruiz.
