DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks (3/15/16): NBA DFS Advice

By Mike (Flickr: (2013-12-21) Kings at Magic 62) [CC-BY-SA-2.0 (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.0)], via Wikimedia Commons

Sam Nedimyer highlights the top daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for 3/15/16. These are the top value and sleeper plays for your DraftKings NBA DFS lineups.

As if the world hasn’t gotten enough of Drake, NBA fans got more of him last night. During a throw in by Justin Holiday in Chicago’s bout against Toronto, Drake had some words for the savvy youngster and apparently got in his head. Of course ESPN had to cram that down our collective throat, so there’s basically zippy chance of you not being able to see the highlight. I apologize to the city of Toronto for what you are about to read, but I cannot wait until the Raptors get bounced out of the playoffs and Drake goes away.

In this article, I will be providing you with Daily NBA picks for DraftKings for 3/15/16. The picks will range from some of the elite players, to mid-priced options, and value plays. Be sure to check out my podcast live streaming on Google+ every Monday and Thursday right here at Rotoballer for all your DFS needs.

Without wasting anymore time, let's get down to it!

DraftKings DFS Point Guards

Rajon Rondo (at LAL, $7,800)

Another day, another recommendation of a point guard going up against the Lakers. Rondo has been an absolute thorn in the Lakers’ side this year, going for nearly 14 points, five boards, and over 12 assists per in three games this season. He also owns a silly +- of +27.5 against them, his best against any team this season. That means he has been in some blowouts. The Lakers have been keeping games close in the Staples Center as of late, limiting the runaway factor.

Ish Smith (at BKN, $6,700)

It seems like a crap shoot in recommending players from the Sixers. They are trash and are completely capable of getting run off the court. Not Tuesday, though. Phily will visit nearly equally bad Brooklyn, a team that has been destroyed by driving point guards this season. The Sixers will most likely be without Jahlil Okafor yet again, as well as a few more listed further down, so they will need all the scorers they can get. Just two games ago, Ish was one assist and two rebounds short of a triple double. He is capable of dropping one in Brooklyn.

C.J. Watson (vs DEN, $3,500)

Watson garners a whole lot of attention if Elfrid Payton does sit on Tuesday. Watson hasn’t necessarily been great in his limited playing time, but he has been able to beat up weak opponents on a per minute basis. He was extremely efficient last week in two games against the Kings and Lakers, respectively. The Nuggets backcourt is just as bad as those teams.

DraftKings DFS Shooting Guards

Victor Oladipo (vs DEN, $7,400)

Don’t over think this. Oladipo is the safest cash game play. He has been a Luke Skywalker-ish force since the All Star Break in terms of volume and playing time. He only scored 27.25 DraftKings points his last time out against Portland, but he only played 24 minutes. Don’t expect him to roll out for only a half on Tuesday night.

Evan Turner (at IND, $5,400)

Turner figures to be inserted into the starter’s role with the loss of Jae Crowder, which most likely means a bump in minutes as well. He is already the first guy off the bench for the Celtics, playing near 29 minutes per game, so there doesn’t seem to be a much higher ceiling for Turner. He is relatively cash safe, however.

Bojan Bogdanovic (vs PHI, $4,600)

Yikes. Shooting guard is looking rough. At least for cash plays. But for tournament, you could certainly go several routes. In what figures to be a close game between two bad teams, there is some deceivingly nice value available. Bogdanovic is a guy that comes to mind. He has been logging minutes in the 30s since Joe Johnson was bought out and has played kind of okay. For tournament purposes, you could do worse.

Hollis Thompson (at BKN, $4,300)

Bogdanovic’s likely counterpart Thompson is in store for a ton of minutes tonight. Both Robert Covington and Jerami Grant will be out due to concussions, so Thompson will definitely have the opportunity to log major minutes. And let’s face it. Bogdanovic isn’t known for his defensive prowess.

DraftKings DFS Small Forwards

Giannis Antetokounmpo (vs TOR, $9,200)

Kawhi Leonard (vs LAC, $8,500)

Paul George (vs BOS, $8,200)

Outside of the heavy hitters at the swing, there’s really no need to go dumpster diving. Kawhi, Alphabet, and PG13 are the highest projected scorers of the night. There’s not even a fourth candidate that you can really bank on. Don’t mess around. That being said, Alphabet has the toughest matchup from a statistical standpoint, so it might make more sense to attack a different team. I like George the most since Jae Crowder is out, but I can’t blame you if you go Greek. Dude is on some kind of tear.

DraftKings DFS Power Forwards

DeMarcus Cousins (at LAL, $10,500)

STUD.

Thaddeus Young (vs PHI, $7,000)

Thad was in a bit of slump there for a minute, but there’s nothing like a hefty dose of Philadelphia to cure what ails you! In last week’s loss to the Sixers, he played all but eight minutes and was one rebound short of a double-double bonus. Given the injuries to the Sixers, Nerlens Noel was most likely be tasked with slowing down Brook Lopez, freeing up Thad to absolutely destroy Carl Landry.

Carl Landry (at BKN, $3,700)

Speaking of Landry, let’s go ahead and recommend him. Philadelphia’s decimated frontcourt means Landry will play massive minutes along with Noel. He is pretty cash safe and actually has some nice upside in the rebounding department. He is grabbing 13.9% of all rebounds when on the floor, a number that should see an uptick against the poor rebounding Nets.

Jonas Jerebko (at IND, $3,100)

Wow. I like a ton of power forward eligible guys today. Crowder will be out for roughly two weeks, opening up some minutes for Jerebko. He has shown he can produce from a fantasy standpoint when given minutes, but he is a tournament play at best.

Nerlens Noel (at BKN, $6,500)

I would be remiss if I did not mention Noel, who is still power forward eligible on DraftKings. He will be playing center for the injured Okafor and seems to be the one guy in the Philly rotation that is safe to play at least 35 minutes. He went 13/11/2/3/2 against Brooklyn last week and should match that in his sleep. The Nets have been attacking the front court a ton since the loss of Johnson, which should open up a ton of chances for Noel to get some nice swats.

DraftKings DFS Centers

Brook Lopez (vs PHI, $7,900)
We absolutely love the scoring upside against the lowly Sixers, but c’mon Brook. Can’t you haul in more than five rebounds? Let’s go Bro.

Jared Sullinger (at IND, $6,000)

Looks like Sully is finally starting to get it together consistently. He has posted a double-double in three out of five games in March and has been silly efficient on the court, logging an ORating of 119 in this month. There’s no telling which direction the C’s will go on in terms of tempo with the loss of Crowder. Either way, Sullinger has earned his spot in the rotation and shouldn’t lose out on any minutes.
