High-Confidence Strikeout Picks
All odds were current as of 8:00 AM
Hunter Brown OVER 5.5 strikeouts (-113 DraftKings)
We have a showdown between two hard-throwing righties today in Toronto as Hunter Brown takes on Dylan Cease. Brown looked sharp in his return from the IL last week, whiffing seven Tigers in 5+ innings, and now has a 37% K% through three starts in the 2026 season.

The Blue Jays should provide a challenge for Brown in this matchup, as they have just three hitters with a strikeout rate higher than 22% against RHP this season. However, Brown has the type of high-level stuff to get six or more strikeouts against just about any lineup.
Brown's K-rate will surely regress a bit going forward based on his 11% SwStr%, but I still think this line is too low for a pitcher of his caliber. The walk rate is a bit of a concern, but his strong ground ball rate and ability to induce weak contact thus far make me think he'll be able to pitch deep enough into this game to get across the finish line for our strikeout prop.
Dylan Cease OVER 6.5 strikeouts (-110 DraftKings)
We have to love Cease on the other side of this matchup, too. Yes, the Astros have been better lately in terms of lowering their K% to RHP, but they have a very RHH-heavy lineup with as many as seven righties projected in tonight's lineup. Cease has an elite 38% against RHH this season and can overpower hitters with a high-90s fastball and one of the better sliders in baseball.

Cease was scheduled to pitch yesterday and is now another day rested, as that game against the Cubs was postponed. He has seven or more strikeouts in six straight games and seven of his last eight. I think he'll pitch well in this spot tonight in what should be a great pitchers' duel.
