Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Outlooks
Some of the top names include Taysom Hill, Dylan Sampson, Romeo Doubs, Parker Washington, and Blake Corum. We recap why these players should be on your waiver wire radar for Week 17.
Taysom Hill, TE, Saints
After recording more than seven touches in just one game before last Sunday, New Orleans Saints tight end Taysom Hill saw a significant workload increase in his team's win over the New York Jets. Hill recorded 12 carries for 48 yards and four receptions for 36 yards on six targets. The Saints will be without running backs Kendre Miller (knee) and Devin Neal (hamstring) for the remainder of the 2025 season, and veteran back Alvin Kamara (knee, ankle) has missed four straight games.
If Kamara remains sidelined for the Saints' Week 17 matchup against the Tennessee Titans, Hill could see another week with a sizable role in the offense. Hill has proven to be a red zone threat throughout the course of his career, as he's scored 34 rushing touchdowns on 486 career carries. In fantasy leagues with 12 or more teams, Hill is a player to target on the waiver wire heading into Week 17.
Dylan Sampson, RB, Browns
Cleveland Browns running back Dylan Sampson (hand) is poised to handle a starting role moving forward following the injury to teammate Quinshon Judkins (leg, knee) in Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Buffalo Bills. Sampson has been inactive over the past two weeks due to calf and hand issues -- the latter of which kept him out of Sunday's matchup. With Judkins out for the remainder of the season, the 21-year-old will slide into Cleveland's RB1 role when back to full strength. Sampson has proven more than capable of occupying a sort of scatback role.
However, it's worth noting that it's unclear whether he'd operate as a workhorse or split early-down touches with teammates Trayveon Williams and Raheim Sanders. As it stands, Sampson should at least get the bulk of the backfield work, and slots in as an intriguing low-end RB2/high-end flex play for the remainder of the season. That is, so long as he gets over his ailing hand.
Romeo Doubs, WR, Packers
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs has been an inconsistent contributor this season. Finally, Doubs gave fantasy managers a solid performance last weekend. He hauled in five passes for 84 yards and a touchdown during the loss to the Chicago Bears. Doubs led the charge for the Packers' wideouts on Saturday, which is great to see. The biggest problem now is that the Packers could be without both quarterback Jordan Love (concussion) and second-stringer Malik Willis (shoulder) for the Week 17 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens.
If the Packers go to a third-string quarterback, then all the team's pass-catchers would likely see a drop in fantasy value next weekend. Doubs has already been too inconsistent to trust most weeks, but having a third-string quarterback would make him avoidable for Week 17.
Blake Corum, RB, Rams
Los Angeles Rams running back Blake Corum began the 2025 season as his team's clear RB2 behind established back Kyren Williams. However, as the year has progressed, Corum and Williams have moved closer to a true timeshare in the backfield. Over his last four games, Corum has recorded 328 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 44 carries. While Williams remains the team's leading rusher and snap-earner, Corum has played at least 22 offensive snaps in three straight weeks.
Given the overall prowess of the Rams' offense, Corum has a chance to provide fantasy-relevant production every week, as long as he continues to earn double-digit touches. In any fantasy league where he remains available, Corum is a must-add player on the waiver wire heading into his Week 17 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons.
Parker Washington, WR, Jaguars
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Parker Washington is coming off Sunday's win over the Broncos in which he caught six of nine targets for a career-high 145 yards and a touchdown, and he will be a popular waiver addition heading into fantasy championships. While he is capable of providing a relatively safe floor as part of a Jaguars' offense that has seen Trevor Lawrence flourish of late under the tutelage of first-year head coach Liam Coen, it's important to consider the context behind his explosion.
With Broncos' All-Pro cornerback Pat Surtain II shadowing Jakobi Meyers and Brian Thomas Jr. for most of the game, the Jaguars leaned heavily on Washington and tight end Brenton Strange. Against the Colts in Week 17, Jacksonville should see its primary pass catchers more involved, especially if Sauce Gardner, who did not practice at all before missing his third consecutive game, is unable to suit up again
