Boston Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy (face) will be out indefinitely after having facial surgery. He took a slap shot to the face in Saturday's win over the Montreal Canadiens. The star blue-liner will be out for a second consecutive game when Boston takes on the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday night. "He's doing good," Bruins head coach Marco Sturm said on Wednesday morning. "He's recovering right now at home, and we still don't know how long he's going to be out for." Henri Jokiharju took McAvoy's spot in the lineup on Monday against the Carolina Hurricanes and had an assist on the team's only goal in a 3-1 loss. On Wednesday, he has a chance to get on a score sheet in back-to-back games for the first time this season.--Taavi Pailk
