Vancouver Canucks defenseman Quinn Hughes (lower body) won't play on Thursday against the St. Louis Blues, Patrick Johnstone of The Province reports. The Canucks captain will not travel with the team for the road game, marking his third consecutive absence. Hughes could be an option to return to the lineup later during the team's three-game road trip. In nine outing this season, Hughes has posted seven points (one goal, six assists). In his absence, Marcus Pettersson has joined the first defensive pairing, while Filip Hronek is skating with the first power-play unit.--Taavi Pailk
