Week 4 Fantasy Football News and Outlooks

Sam Darnold, Seattle Seahawks

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold is a solid streaming option in Week 4 when the team visits the Arizona Cardinals. Arizona's defense has been solid this season, but they are not a scary opponent. Darnold is starting to look like the player we saw in Minnesota in 2024 as he continues to become more comfortable in this new offense. He is poised in the pocket, and the game appears to be slowing down for him. Darnold is also getting a lot of help from a group of weapons that has certainly outperformed expectations thus far this season.

The Cardinals have not allowed opposing quarterbacks to light up the fantasy scoreboard, but they have not played anyone at the same caliber as Darnold. Anyone with quarterback injuries should be looking to see if Darnold is on the waiver wire. He is unlikely to be a season-long option, but he should be a solid start in Week 4. His efficiency has remained solid, and his turnovers have been low.

Zach Charbonnet, Seattle Seahawks

Seattle Seahawks running back Zach Charbonnet (foot) is currently listed as questionable ahead of Thursday's Week 4 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. Charbonnet sat out in Week 3, but has been able to get through practice this week. The fact that it's a short week probably has something to do with Charbonnet being tagged as questionable.

The 24-year-old hasn't been given a ton of time to recover from his injury that sidelined him last Sunday. If he sits, Kenneth Walker III would be asked to carry a heavy workload. Last week, Walker rushed the ball 16 times and scored two touchdowns on the ground. If Charbonnet plays, he'll likely split up the carries with Walker in the backfield. The third-year back has some flex appeal if he's able to suit up on Thursday.

Cooper Kupp, Seattle Seahawks

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Cooper Kupp is a flex play at best in Week 4. Kupp has been difficult to project in 2025. He delivered a WR2 outing in Week 2, but has otherwise been unplayable. For context, the Seahawks' offense struggled as a whole in Week 1, found its footing in Week 2, and the defense and special teams dominated in Week 3 so much that the offense was hardly needed. If Week 4 proves to be a more competitive game in Arizona, there will be room for Kupp to provide fantasy value.

The good news is that Kupp does not seem to have lost his talent. He is still very adept at getting open, and he is a great safety valve for quarterback Sam Darnold. However, with wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba entrenched as the clear No. 1 and rookie wideout Tory Horton blossoming, it may be prudent to only start Kupp in games where he will likely be essential to Seattle's success. You likely did not draft Kupp to be a starter anyway, so a wait-and-see approach is advised in Week 4.

Trey Benson, Arizona Cardinals

Arizona Cardinals running back Trey Benson will be thrown into the starting spot after a very unfortunate injury to James Conner (ankle) in Week 3. They already started to split more of the touches through three weeks than they did all last season, so this starting opportunity shouldn't be as much of a "shock to the system." In PPR formats, Benson averaged around 8.3 fantasy points per game through three weeks, which put him at RB34. He was quite efficient with the smaller workload, registering 6.0 yards per attempt.

He even received 11 targets compared to six targets all of last year. The tough part is that the Seattle Seahawks are currently ranked as the seventh-toughest defense against the run and have given up the second-fewest points of any defense in the league. Benson's ceiling right now is a mid-level RB2, especially in PPR leagues.

Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray has yet to register a QB1-level finish through the first three weeks of the season, and it doesn't get much easier heading into a short week before the Thursday night game. To make matters worse, Murray will be without his starting running back in James Conner (ankle), Zay Jones (concussion), and four different offensive linemen (two starters) are considered questionable for this matchup.

The Cardinals have also lost their last five games against the Seattle Seahawks over the past couple of seasons, and they only scored a combined 24 points in the two outings last year. With that being said, Murray still has capable playmakers when they're not dropping passes, so he still has a high-level QB2 value.

Trey McBride, Arizona Cardinals

Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride isn't leaving the elite tier of his position any time soon. We have plenty of evidence that Kyler Murray loves throwing the ball his way. In fact, he's currently on pace to see 136 targets, which would be the second-most of his career after getting 147 last year.

Now, he sets his sights on the Seattle Seahawks in the Thursday Night game, who are currently ranked 31st against opposing tight ends. RotoBaller's projections have McBride sitting at 17.3 fantasy points in PPR formats by grabbing around seven receptions for about 70 yards. Once again, this goes without saying, that McBride should be in all lineups regardless of format.
