Anders Lee to Sit Out 1-2 Weeks
New York Islanders left wing Anders Lee (upper body) will be sidelined for 1-2 weeks, the team announced Wednesday. The Islanders captain suffered an upper-body injury in Sunday's preseason contest against the Philadelphia Flyers. With their season opener scheduled for Oct. 9 against the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Islanders might have to begin the campaign without Lee. Anthony Duclair could then be an option to fill in for Lee in the top six. Over the last three campaigns, Lee has missed only one regular-season contest. He enjoyed his second-highest scoring season in 2024-25 with 52 points (29 goals, 25 assists) in 82 games.
