Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 3:
Daniel Jones, QB, Indianapolis Colts
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Daniel Jones is off to a hot start in 2025, having thrown for 588 yards and two touchdowns while adding three rushing touchdowns. Jones will look to keep it going in a road matchup against the Tennessee Titans in Week 3.
The Titans have struggled on defense thus far through two games, allowing 26.5 points per game while notching just two sacks, 30th-most in the league.
Jones doesn't have a historically sterling reputation as a fantasy option thanks to his up-and-down tenure as the quarterback of the New York Giants, but he's trustworthy to start as a high-end QB2 heading into Week 3.
Kenneth Walker III, RB, Seattle Seahawks
Seattle Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker III looks to be a workhorse running back in Week 3 against the New Orleans Saints. No. 2 running back Zach Charbonnet (foot) is tagged as doubtful for this week, which means that Walker will likely receive a massive workload.
Walker and Charbonnet had been in a near-even backfield split in terms of total touches. The Seahawks have been intentional with the usage of their running backs to keep both of them fresh and healthy. However, with limited running back experience behind Walker, he is going to have to receive the lion's share of touches out of necessity.
The Saints have not been lit up by opposing running backs to begin the season, but Walker's volume alone gives him a chance to have a massive game. Walker has already seen a solid target share in the first two games of the season. With a substantial uptick in carries, he should knock on the door of RB1 status in Week 3.
Bhayshul Tuten, RB, Jacksonville Jaguars
Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Liam Coen said that rookie running back Bhayshul Tuten "has taken a huge jump from the spring" and also compared him to Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Bucky Irving, whom he coached last year.
Tuten is focusing on all the little details and is still a work in progress in his first NFL season, but Coen has liked what he's seen, and there's no denying that the 23-year-old is an intriguing hold in all fantasy leagues, especially after the Jags traded Tank Bigsby to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 2.
Bigsby was limited in practice this week, but he's off the final injury report and will play in Week 3 against the division-rival Houston Texans, where he should be viewed as an RB3/flex with upside behind Travis Etienne Jr. Tuten had eight carries for 42 yards and also caught two passes for 32 yards and his first career touchown in last week's loss to the Cincinatti Bengals with an elevated workload.
Rome Odunze, WR, Chicago Bears
In speaking with reporters on Friday, Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson was effusive in his praise of second-year wide receiver Rome Odunze. Johnson was quick to point out Odunze's contributions in the run game and his ability to separate, along with his athleticism and catch radius, labeling the ninth pick of the 2024 draft a "complete receiver".
After a relatively quiet rookie season, Odunze has looked every bit the part of an alpha-receiver through the first two games of 2025, coming off the best game of his career, in which he caught seven of ten targets for 128 yards and two scores. The Bears face the Dallas Cowboys in Week 3 in a game with one of the highest projected point totals of the week.
Given the commendation heaped upon him by his coach, expect Odunze to see continued involvement in the passing game, making him a must-start.
Ladd McConkey, WR, Los Angeles Chargers
Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Ladd McConkey caught all five of his targets for 48 yards against the Las Vegas Raiders in the team's 20-9 win on Monday night. He has been reliable through two weeks, but hasn't received a single red-zone target, which limits his touchdown potential.
McConkey was a DNP on Wednesday with a bicep injury, but participated fully the rest of the week. He does not carry an injury designation going into Week 3. Despite a potential shadow matchup against the Denver Broncos' shutdown corner Pat Surtain, McConkey's route-running and quarterback Justin Herbert's trust should create opportunities.
Heading into the Week 3 home matchup versus the Denver Broncos, RotoBaller projects Ladd McConkey as WR14 and recommends that he should be started in all formats despite the tough matchup.
