Hunter Renfrow Looks to Continue His Strong Play
Carolina Panthers wide receiver Hunter Renfrow turned back the clock in Week 2, but he heads into a tough test against the Atlanta Falcons' defense in Week 3. He found the end zone twice in the team's 25-22 loss to the Arizona Cardinals, finishing the day with seven catches for 48 yards on a team-high nine targets. His big day, combined with news from Wednesday's practice that fellow wideout Xavier Legette was shut down with a hamstring injury, has fantasy managers looking closely at Renfrow. He has already become quarterback Bryce Young's safety valve, a role that could grow even more valuable in the coming weeks. However, any excitement needs to be tempered by his Week 3 matchup against the Falcons. The Falcons rank second in the NFL in pass defense, giving up just 139.5 passing yards per game and just one touchdown through the air in the first two weeks. They just shut down Justin Jefferson and the Minnesota Vikings, holding them to only 120 passing yards and zero touchdowns. Despite his Week 2 performance and the news on Legette, Renfrow simply cannot be trusted in fantasy lineups this week. However, fantasy managers should keep monitoring Renfrow's target share in Week 3.
