Keegan Akin Notches Fifth Save on Thursday
Baltimore Orioles reliever Keegan Akin collected his fifth save of the year in a 3-2 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday. The left-hander struck out one in a scoreless, one-hit ninth inning and threw 13 pitches (nine strikes). Akin, who has been sharing the closer role with righty Yennier Cano in the absence of the injured Felix Bautista (shoulder), has picked up two saves and allowed one earned run in 5 1/3 innings this month. He now owns a 3.14 ERA with a 1.34 WHIP, 54 strikeouts, and 30 walks over 57 1/3 frames this season.
