Alijah Vera-Tucker Having Season-Ending Surgery
New York Jets offensive guard Alijah Vera-Tucker (triceps) will undergo season-ending surgery on his torn triceps, a source told Adam Schefter of ESPN. Vera-Tucker tore his triceps muscle in practice on Tuesday and will be forced to miss the entire 2025 regular season. It's tough news for the 22-year-old former first-rounder in 2021 who also tore the triceps in his other arm back in 2022. He also missed 12 games in 2023 with a torn Achilles, to it's an understatement to say that he's been injury-prone early in his career with the Jets. The injury will cause the Jets to reshuffle their offensive line right before the Week 1 season opener this Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers, which is never ideal. It's possible that Joe Tippman will slide over to right guard to replace Vera-Tucker, with Josh Myers starting at center.
