Who should I draft for fantasy football in 2025? Fantasy football outlooks for Colston Loveland, Tucker Kraft, Kyle Pitts, Trey McBride, T.J. Hockenson, Jake Ferguson, Brock Bowers, Brenton Strange, Evan Engram, Dalton Kincaid, Darren Waller.
One of the key decisions that every fantasy manager must make on draft day is how they want to attack the tight-end position. It’s a complicated position that often gets neglected amongst the flashy breakouts and stars at the other positions.
For many managers, they wait until one of the later rounds to select a tight end. However, finding any solid production from a late tight end is difficult, so it’s important to choose the right one. And that's why we're here, to help you win your drafts.
Here is a breakdown of three late tight ends who need consideration for your roster this year, and also draft comparisons for several other tight ends to help you make the right decisions. Good luck with your drafts, RotoBallers!
Tucker Kraft Fantasy Football Outlook
Green Bay Packers tight end Tucker Kraft is entering his third season in the NFL, looking to improve on an impressive sophomore season. Kraft was one of four tight ends to total 700 yards and seven touchdowns last season, finishing as the TE9 in half-PPR leagues.
Kraft’s efficiency was elite in 2024, leading all tight ends in yards after catch per reception (9.1), broken tackles (nine), and was second in yards per reception (14.1, min. 50 targets). The Packers tight end played 85% of the snaps in 2024 and had just below a 15% target share.

The concerning thing about drafting Kraft is that the Packers were one of the most run-heavy teams in the NFL. The Packers threw the ball 479 times in 2024 (third fewest in the NFL), compared to the 581 times (ranked 15th) that they passed it in 2023.
The Packers had a ton of success running the ball, with Josh Jacobs ranking in the top five in rushing yards and clinching a playoff berth in one of the toughest divisions in football. This run-heavy scheme limited Kraft to just 70 targets (18th among TEs), which prevents him from being a consistent starting tight end in fantasy football.
If Kraft can see 100+ targets, he’ll be one of the best picks fantasy managers can make at the tight-end position. Going as the TE9, the value is there if Kraft sees an uptick in targets and breaks out.
Kyle Pitts Sr. Fantasy Football Outlook
Is this finally the year for Kyle Pitts? Probably not. The Falcons' former top-5 pick has disappointed in his four-year career, totaling under 700 yards and four touchdowns in each of his last three seasons.
2024 was Pitts’ worst season, averaging career lows in receptions (2.8), targets (4.3), and yards (35.4), despite the Falcons reverting to a slightly more pass-heavy approach.
Pitts played the fewest snaps of his career, which is very concerning. In the first 11 weeks of the season, Pitts played nearly 70% of the snaps. After that, he played under 50% of the snaps, with backup tight end Charlie Woerner averaging more snaps (55.6%) during that span.

Whether it’s his lack of production receiving or his lackluster blocking ability, Pitts was not trusted down the stretch of last season when the Falcons were chasing the NFC South title.
Pitts has an upgrade at quarterback, with 2024 first-round pick Michael Penix Jr. starting, which clears an avenue for Pitts to figure it out. However, the main beneficiaries of the quarterback change will be receivers Drake London and Darnell Mooney.
Pitts has been an enigma for fantasy football and is more of a meme than a plausible startable tight end heading into this season. Going as the TE16, Pitts is not a great starting option, unless injuries occur to either London or Mooney.
Colston Loveland Fantasy Football Outlook
The Chicago Bears continue to build around 2024 first overall pick Caleb Williams, spending the 10th overall pick on Michigan tight end Colston Loveland. Loveland was the leading receiver with the Wolverines in 2024, garnering a 37% target share.
The rookie tight end has split reps in the preseason with tight end Cole Kmet. Kmet has had multiple seasons of over 600 yards and six touchdowns, despite much worse quarterback play. For the beginning of the season, Loveland will be in a timeshare with the veteran, which would make the rookie unstartable in fantasy leagues.
Later in the season, Loveland should become more of a fantasy asset at the tight-end position. Despite a crowded receiver room with DJ Moore, Rome Odunze, and second-round pick Luther Burden III, Loveland can carve a role in Ben Johnson’s offense. Johnson has already aided Lions tight end Sam LaPorta, who finished as the TE1 overall in his rookie year in 2023.

Loveland has the talent, the draft capital, and the system to become a household name at the tight-end position. Loveland’s fantasy value will depend on overtaking Kmet as the starter, as well as hoping for a Williams breakout season. Going as the TE12, Loveland will likely disappoint early in the season, but is a great player to stash for the latter half.
Who Should I Draft in Fantasy Football?
If choosing from the three tight ends above, then Tucker Kraft is the clear answer, especially early in the season.
Kraft brings some early season breakout potential that the other two don’t possess. Colston Loveland brings some late-season breakout potential to the table, with him expected to surpass Kmet and take over as the TE1 in Chicago. Pitts will likely need an injury to someone in the receiving rotation for him to have a chance at fantasy production.
