Adam Mazur Promoted, Set to Start Thursday
Adam Mazur was promoted to the majors Wednesday afternoon and is expected to start on Thursday against the Mets. Mazur has been unspectacular in 107.1 innings at Triple-A Jacksonville this season, holding a 4.36 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and a 15.6% K-BB%. He made one spot start with Miami back in June and allowed four runs and four walks in 5.2 innings. For his career in the majors, he's started nine games and has a 7.32 ERA with a 1.78 WHIP in 39.1 innings. The 24-year-old's best offering is his slider, which he has leaned into more this year. His struggles pop up most often against opposite-handed hitters, with a 1.46 WHIP against lefties versus 1.19 to righties. The profile isn't overly exciting for fantasy outside of deep leagues and NL-only formats.
