Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Spencer Strider is expected to start the second half opener on Friday against the Yankees, reports David O'Brien of The Athletic. This move doesn't come as a surprise, as Chris Sale and Spencer Schwellenbach are both on the injured list. Strider will be followed by Joey Wentz on Saturday and Grant Holmes on Sunday. The 26-year-old isn't quite as dominant as he was before his 2024 surgery, but he did end the first half with a strong eleven-strikeout performance against the Athletics. Through 11 games and 61 ⅔ innings, he has posted a 3.94 ERA and 1.17 WHIP with 74 strikeouts and 24 walks.--Jeremy Heist
