The Baltimore Orioles have placed catcher/designated hitter Gary Sanchez (knee) on the 10-day injured list with a sprained right knee. Additionally, the Orioles have acquired catcher Alex Jackson from the New York Yankees for international signing bonus pool money and a player to be named later or cash considerations. To make room for Jackson, the Orioles moved infielder/outfielder Jorge Mateo (hamstring) from the 10-day IL to the 60-day version. Sanchez is hitting the IL for the second time this year after missing all of May and half of June with wrist inflammation. The 32-year-old has been a regular presence in the O's lineup lately with starting backstop Adley Rutschman on the IL, but now he'll be unavailable for at least 10 days. Sanchez has hit .231/.297/.418 with five home runs and 24 RBI in 101 plate appearances.--Connor Byrne
