Chris Godwin 2025 Fantasy Football Outlook: Health a Major Concern for Fantasy Managers
Chris Godwin (ankle) has had a productive eight-year career. The 29-year-old assembled three straight 1,000-yard receiving seasons heading into the 2024 campaign. It appeared he was well on his way to another. However, Godwin suffered an ankle injury, ending his season after seven games. Before going down with the injury, he had a quality year, racking up 50 catches for 576 yards and five touchdowns, tying his mark from 2021. Unfortunately, Godwin has been working his way back to health ever since. The 2017 No. 84 overall pick is currently listed as the No. 26 fantasy wideout for standard leagues in RotoBaller's 2025 fantasy football rankings. He holds the No. 23 spot for those participating in PPR formats. There's no guarantee Godwin will be ready for Week 1. There's also a chance he may be limited during training camp and early in the season. In addition, the Buccaneers have a new offensive coordinator, Josh Grizzard, as Liam Coen is now the head coach in Jacksonville. Godwin could have trouble meeting his ADP expectations, especially if he gets off to a slow start. On the other hand, fantasy managers shouldn't look past him if he is still available in fantasy drafts beyond the fourth round, even if it means stashing him until he's back to full strength.
