Joey Bart Reinstated and Starting on Tuesday
Joey Bart (concussion) from the seven-day concussion injured list. Bart will immediately return behind the plate to catch left-hander Bailey Falter on Tuesday and will bat sixth against Detroit Tigers right-hander Casey Mize at Comerica Park. The 28-year-old backstop is returning to the big-league lineup after going 3-for-13 with two RBI in five minor-league rehab starts. Bart will return to a .240/.347/.308 slash line with a below-average .655 OPS, one home run, 11 RBI, seven runs scored and one steal in 146 at-bats, and he'll settle back in as Pittsburgh's primary catcher. The former second overall pick by the San Francisco Giants in 2018 will be viable in two-catcher formats now that he's back with the Bucs. He played his best baseball in 2024 after being traded to the Pirates, clubbing a career-high 13 homers in just 80 games.
