Hot MLB Prospects to Watch for Fantasy Baseball - Week 12 (2025)

fantasy baseball prospects MLB prospects rookies call-ups

Andersen looks at the top fantasy baseball prospects risers, sleepers for Week 12 of 2025. These MLB prospects may become strong waiver wire stashes or pickups.

Welcome back, RotoBallers! We're heading into Week 12 of the baseball season, and the minor league schedule is in full swing. During last week's action, there were plenty of big plays and impressive prospect performances throughout Minor League Baseball.

Monitoring the top fantasy baseball prospects who have turned heads thus far is imperative. The players listed here are coming off dominant weeks and have significant long-term upside. Don't be surprised when these exact names are painting corners, mashing homers, and swiping bags at the big league level soon.

Savvy fantasy managers looking for an edge in their leagues should watch these players over the long haul, as they may soon be excellent additions.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

Michael Arroyo, 2B/3B/SS, Seattle Mariners

Level: High-A
2025 stats: 59 G, .280/.437/.532, 14 HR, 38 RBI, 38 R, 3 SB, 13.3% BB%, 21.5% K%, .326 BABIP, .445 wOBA, 159 wRC+

Arroyo is an advanced hitter who has delivered impressive results at the plate throughout various levels of the minors. He posts above-average power for a shortstop, and while his strikeout rate is approaching 25 percent, he also draws walks at a decent clip.

The defensive outlook for Arroyo is certainly murky. He has already been moved off shortstop at High-A, where he now plays second base. Seattle is presumably optimistic that he can stick at the keystone, but even that isn't a guarantee given his inconsistent glove work and subpar range.

Even if Arroyo's defense lags behind, his offense continues to turn heads. Last week, he went 10-for-21 with four homers, nine RBI, two walks, and two strikeouts. He showed extreme power and advanced discipline, with a promotion to Double-A likely coming sooner rather than later.

Shane Murphy, SP, Chicago White Sox

Level: Double-A
2025 stats: 12 G, 9 GS, 5-3, 59.0 IP, 1.68 ERA, 2.75 xFIP, 8.24 K/9, 1.22 BB/9, 0.92 HR/9, 46.1% GB%, .227 BABIP

Murphy, a southpaw, was the White Sox' 14th-round pick in 2022. The Chander Gilbert Community College product has handled the transition to pro ball exceptionally well, and he continues to shine as he climbs through the minor leagues.

Murphy checks in at 6-foot-5, and while he only throws his fastball around 90 mph, he commands it quite well. He has never been a major strikeout guy, but he limits walks and typically induces weaker contact.

Last week was one to remember for Murphy, who strung together two consecutive scoreless outings. On Tuesday, he struck out five batters with just one hit and one walk over seven scoreless innings. He added another five strikeouts on Sunday, tossing six scoreless innings with three hits.

Konnor Griffin, SS/OF, Pittsburgh Pirates

Level: High-A
2025 stats: 56 G, .346/.405/.564, 11 HR, 44 RBI, 59 R, 32 SB, 6.8% BB%, 20.9% K%, .409 BABIP, .445 wOBA, 165 wRC+

Griffin was selected ninth overall out of high school last summer. He fetched more than $6.5 million as a signing bonus, and so far, all signs point to Griffin being worth every penny. He has continued to show five-tool potential in the lower levels of the minors.

Griffin's speed is nearly unparalleled, as evidenced by his 32 stolen bases so far this year. He delivers good contact and is capable of making adjustments at the plate. He has already shown flashes of power despite being 19 years old and playing in his first season of pro ball. Defensively, he can survive up the middle at center field or shortstop, with the latter being more likely.

Last week, in his first taste of High-A action, Griffin went 12-for-31 with two home runs and four doubles. He also drove in eight runs, drew four walks, struck out three times, and went 5-for-7 on stolen bases. The young prospect didn't miss a beat upon his promotion to High-A, and he'll likely have no trouble climbing even higher through the ranks.

Braden Davis, SP, St. Louis Cardinals

Level: Single-A
2025 stats: 12 G, 9 GS, 1-1, 51.2 IP, 2.96 ERA, 3.92 xFIP, 11.85 K/9, 6.79 BB/9, 0.70 HR/9, 54.5% GB%, .250 BABIP

Davis, an Oklahoma product, was the Cardinals' fifth-round pick last summer. He's a 22-year-old southpaw who has struggled with walks but otherwise looks impressive so far in his first full pro season.

Davis sits in the low 90s with his fastball, peaking at 95 mph. It pairs nicely with his changeup to create a deceiving tunneling effect. He rounds out his repertoire with a slider, which likely needs more "bite" to become an effective putaway pitch.

Last Thursday, Davis allowed just one hit, three walks, and zero runs over 5.2 innings of work. He was masterful when attacking the zone, racking up a total of 12 strikeouts. He finished the day with a no-decision but averaged more than two strikeouts per inning.

George Wolkow, OF, Chicago White Sox

Level: Single-A
2025 stats: 55 G, .228/.316/.376, 8 HR, 33 RBI, 27 R, 16 SB, 9.5% BB%, 25.4% K%, .272 BABIP, .336 wOBA, 97 wRC+

Wolkow was the White Sox' seventh-round pick back in 2023. Fresh out of high school at the time, he agreed to an overslot deal that included a $1 million signing bonus. Just 19 years old, he continues to turn heads in the lower levels of the minors.

Wolkow's stats at the plate haven't been the greatest this year, partly due to his tendency to chase pitches out of the zone and whiff. His K/BB ratio needs a major reduction, but he does make up for lost opportunities with his ability to steal bases. Defensively, his 6-foot-7 frame presents a challenge in the outfield, so while he's good enough to play out there, a shift to first base could become necessary.

Last week at the plate, Wolkow went 8-for-23 with three homers, eight RBI, four walks, and six strikeouts. He did swipe one base, but he was also caught stealing twice. He'll look to use this big week to give him momentum as he looks to improve upon an otherwise subpar stat line.
