Jose Siri Back To Baseball Activities
Jose Siri (leg) is progressing more quickly than expected from the broken bone he suffered earlier this season. Siri exited a game in early April when he fouled a ball off his shin. Initial x-rays came back negative, but after further testing, it was revealed he had fractured his tibia. The 29-year-old's early diagnosis had him back in eight to ten weeks from the time of the injury, but it looks like he has a chance to supersede that timetable. While there's no set date for him to begin a rehab assignment, it's undoubtedly excellent news. Teammate Tyrone Taylor has underwhelmed at the dish in his stead with a .234 batting average, but his xBA indicates he's underperforming (.266). Siri was able to do some light jogging in his return to the field.
